It's been almost 2 months since I was here last, so many new members now and a lot I should really catch up on. This post will be a very large update.
Thomas is doing great, his bg has stayed within normal range and I only test once a week now.
After all of his fur grew in on his chin he started getting pimples or what I'm assuming are pimples. I guess it's where they shaved right on his cat acne for his surgery and now it gets inflamed really easily.
Every time I brushed his chin he was getting one so I don't brush it anymore. They only lasted a few days before he drained them or they drained on their own. Then they would scab over and heal up quickly. He has some bald patches where they healed.
They aren't reoccurring in the same spots so I don't think they're cysts. I'm definitely keeping an eye on them though.
Gave him a shower yesterday and came to the realization that it's best to trim his nails in the shower because he's so distracted with everything else that he doesn't pay much attention to his paws being touched. I had them all trimmed in less than a minute.
His little ear nub is doing great. Just gets itchy easily, I clean it more often to help with that. I might trim the hair a bit, that could be helpful.
His weight is stuck at 15.6 lbs currently, can't seem to get him to lose anymore. Might buy some interactive toys, perhaps that would help. Still a lot better than being 20+ lbs. He just looks chubby now rather than obese, his belly doesn't stick out from the sides anymore.
So thankful for everyone here that helped me get him healthy again. He's now slimmer and OTJ going on 2 months now!
I hope everyone and their furbabies are doing well! I hope you're having a wonderful day!

SO glad you guys are still doing well !!!

My cat had chin acne for a bit - I ended up changing his water dish to a ceramic fountain since I think the plastic wasn't helping - hope it clears up

I changed his bowls to ceramic quite a few years back, his acne hasn't improved unfortunately but it hasn't worsened either.
I bought a plastic water fountain about a 2 years ago but he doesn't use it much and I haven't seen his chin acne worsen at all until after his surgery.
I think where they shaved it has made it overly sensitive to flare ups now. Never had any issues brushing his chin or anything before this. His change to all wet food may also have something to do with it too I'm sure.
All the ceramic fountains I've looked at are pretty expensive, any recommendations?

read somewhere that cleaning food bowls regularly could also help with chin acne.
