Struggling with this test. This has been every reading I’ve gotten even prior to the OTJ trial. I’m not sure what color it is. Glucose was negative and he hasn’t had a high BG in over 10 days. I did try a sample last week on myself and it was negative. I also make sure it’s exactly at 15 seconds. As a side note, OTJ trial is going great! @Deb & Wink or @JanetNJ any ideas?
Looks negative to me too! Day 12 cheering post from Deb, on the OTJ trial. Let's see, what picture to share today? Couldn't decide, so here are 2. Both ocean/marine themed, for Florida gal Max. Ten + 2 = 12 Count the sea creatures. Ok, there are more than 12, but couldn't resist.
Thank you, Deb!! Another great day for Max. Caught him grooming his sister tonight (biological sister). I call them my twins. Glad you think it’s negative along with Janet. Not as obvious to me compared to checking my dog.
Day 13 for Max on his OTJ trial. Still looking absolutely fantastic! Go Max!!!!!! Marker at the beach. Thought you could relate to this.
Thank you, Deb!!!! Yes, I can certainly relate. Was at a condo this past weekend on the beach (but drove home three times a day to check and feed the kitties lol)
It’s looking that way! I’m on the FD FB page and this board and it’s so sad to see the number of newly diagnosed kitties on a daily basis. You would think FD would be better studied and food companies would reanalyze their ingredients. I have learned so much here on the benefits of lower carb food. I went to the grocery store and bought 30 cans of food and thinking this will last all of 3.25 days. Lol I am forever grateful for this site. I do have some guilt that Max is one of the lucky ones that responded to insulin and is near remission, but I wouldn’t hesitate to do it all over again with him. We’ve bonded even more over this disease.
Welcome to the falls Max! It's official, 14 days, 28 cycles (actually 29 cycles) in excellent BG numbers. Max is feeling like this tiger, diving through the falls. It's called the falls, because people used to go to Niagara Falls for their honeymoon, and being able to go off insulin is often referred to as a "honeymoon." You might add Max to the thread at the top of the Prozinc forum, that talks about recent remissions. It gives others hope. p.s. I took me a while to feel comfortable tapering off the testing for Wink. You may be the same, and have to "wean yourself off" the daily testing.
Thank you, Deb. This gave me tears. I could not have done this without you and Janet and several others who helped us through this journey, especially through some near hypos. I will certainly add a post tonight.
Where are those dancing kitties, to help Max and Rebecca celebrate? Will you settle for some dancing turkeys instead?
