I hope you can take advantage of Alice's high numbers and get some rest. Sending prayers. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Great news! I have a friend who was once a vet tech. She has volunteered to watch Alice for maybe six hours or so one day early this week. So I can get a solid bit of sleep without the anxiety, and so she can still get her syringe food and not have to go so many hours without a feed.

I could barely see straight for most of the day, I’m so overtired. So it’s putting it mildly to say I am really looking forward to this!!

PMPS is 374, shot at +11.8
Made a new can of blended ziwi, plus 1/4 tsp d-mannose, 1/4 tsp phos binder (She also gets some syringes after meals). One Cosequin, one probiotic capsule, three Tbsp water so it would blend.

how much volume can a cat’s stomach comfortably hold? 15mL is a tablespoon. I’ve been worried to push it past that.

This was my sleep window and I can’t sleep. Again. :banghead:

I could do one last feed soon ish and then sleep right up until next shot. Maybe. If I can sleep. Amongst all the wonky things that go one wit mmmm my ow health, not sleeping can make it harder for me to sleep sometimes. And I lose my appetite. So now I’m force feeding both Alice and my self too! :p Now I really feel for her because it’s awful stuffing food into your own face when you are turned off by it completely but know you need it to be able to get things done....

    she had a 308 @ +5

I’m noticing her tummy is gurgling a lot. @THH do you know anything about what that is indicative of? Diarrhea, constipation, gas, other upset? It’s not common for it to be loud enough to hear unless my ear is at her belly.
Oh! Could it be the miralax? Hmm.

How much can I syringe at once and how long should I wait minimum between feedings?

it’s getting hard on me because I stay up to feed and give meds and feed and give meds and feed.. I need information so I can create a more functional schedule. She needs to be able to consume roughly 130-170kcal I think, so 9 tablespoons a day. Probably should add an extra tablespoons to account for added volume form meds supplements and sufficient water for blending.

so I need to do 4-5 feeds a cycle. How can I spread those out on a way that is comfortable for her, and still somehow find maybe six hours to sleep?

Free to sleep for 4-5 hours now. What a relief. She has had her minimum 60mL syringes for this cycle. Subq fluids. All meds needed given. All supplements given.

I’m starting to become accustomed to the anxious adrenaline and it’s difficult to decompress enough to really relax or sleep. Now this isn’t just a problem with Alec but with her CG too. Deep breath. It’s a marathon. Pace myself, but keep going.

When I touch certain areas of her body she makes a noise that makes me wonder if she has some pain.

    Sleepy. Goodnight.

I'm sorry I don't know about syringe feeding. I'd try to find a schedule that allows you to get some sleep. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

That's probably the Miralax. Hopefully things are starting to move. Did she have a bowel movement yesterday?

Also, to make your schedule easier, you can give Miralax with other meds or in with her syringed food.

For syringe-feeding, I'd suggest 10mL, give her a 5-10 minute break, then you can do another 10mL if she's not licking her lips or hard swallowing.
