    Yesterday's post

Mo had yet another bounce yesterday but it was short lived and he is back in the yellows and pinks. Hoping that this coming week we see more bluuuueeessss.

We are running low on testing strips so I have to ration the few we have until more arrive in the mail. Hopefully on Monday *fingers crossed*

Hope you're all doing well :bighug:

Good Morning Katy! Looks like you're following the TR dosing method, so you may want to start thinking about an increase soon. None of those numbers are looking like anything worth sticking to this dose for much longer...

One thing I found about running short on strips is to get another inexpensive human meter and matching strips to have as a backup. It'll give you peace of mind and it's always a good idea to have one in reserve just in case - things happen to these meters, from dead batteries to just plain old malfunctions...it's just a little insurance. So when you're ready to increase - like at this point it would be good, but without enough strips it kind of puts you in a predicament where you aren't able to...

So just something to consider next time you're in the stores.

    Have a great day!

Thank you for the advice! Yes, I was thinking that it's probably time to go up a dose soon. I was going to ask about it but I forgot so thank you for reading my mind ;) Once I have the strips we will up his insulin to 3.75units.

That's a really good idea regarding the extra meter! I never even thought of that. I will look into getting another one while I'm at the shops next :)

Like Sue, I keep both a backup meter (and two extra sets of batteries since my meter's batteries can be replaced). :) I also keep a stock of strips tucked away with my backup meter. I never touch these strips; they are there in case of an emergency. This gives me total peace of mind that if Butters ever did something really crazy like drop very low when I least expected it, I never have to worry about running out of strips or not having a working meter. :D
Paws crossed for more blue numbers for your Mo!:bighug: Enjoy your evening.

we just rotated our backup pack into service and put a newer pack in the backup bc expiration dates.
and similarly, we just retired the remaining jar of ketone sticks in trade for a new batch.

Good point. The expiry date of my backups are late fall 2021, but they should be rotated out at some point.
