If you have all of the above I would shoot, he’s coming up and seems to nadir quite late, it’s not the number he is now you’re really shooting it’s the number he’s going to be a couple of hours from now, also it’s not the lowest number you’ve shot. You’ll want to start with a +2 test and if that’s significantly lower strap in for what may be an active cycle. Regardless of what happens in the early part of the cycle you’re going to want to get at least one test later in the cycle too, around +8 and maybe more, are you up for that?

The link to your spreadsheet is in your signature which is great, so you don’t need to post it separately, but can I also get you to add some extra information to your signature before the spreadsheet link. It will stop people asking the same questions over and over and help them to give you the right advice for your cat and be able to help you more quickly.
You want to include your name and Chnoudi’s name, the type of insulin you’re using, the type of meter you’re using, the type of food you’re feeding (You don’t need to put the brand you can just put LC wet and it’s very important to note if you’re feeding any dry food), any other medical conditions and medication being given and particularly note if there’s any history of ketones. You’ll also want to add the dosing method you’re using TR or SLGS when you decide.

So that’s a either a really big food spike or she’s heading into a bounce from being in lower numbers than she’s used to and he’s going to let you off the hook tonight. I would test again at +4 to see which it is. What do you think?

I think this high number is due to the food. She was eating a lot till 23:30 (it's 00:40 now) and she took also her supplement for the liver... I ll try to wake up again and test her in 4 hours from now.. It's really hard for me...

By +4 I meant two hours from now - four hours after the shot. We talk in + however many hours from the shot around here because that is the important information and everyone is in different time zones. No need to wake her up necessarily she might sleep through her test, Vyktor used to do that all the time :) ETA I see you were talking about waking yourself up not her, sorry I was scanning too quickly :banghead:

What time is it there now are you wanting to go to bed? Your other option is to skip the +4 and set the alarm for a test later in the cycle. If it’s not your bedtime yet the +4 (two hours from the last test) would be the better option as you might get to sleep through the night.

ETA - I also see you posted the time and it’s quite late, perhaps you just want to have a big glass of water now and go to bed. Then you can test her when you get up to pee.

Here, it's 2:00 am .. I went to bed at 00:00 and set an alarm clock for the +2 test! I'm really sleepy now I can barely understand and respond in English (Yes, you are right it's +4 from the shot.)
So, I'll try to set an other alarm clock 2 hours from now. Otherwise, I ll skip it and test her later

You might want to consider making her shot times earlier to make it easier to get some night tests in but of course that depends on your schedule. So if you shot at midnight perhaps leave her until 7am and see what’s happening then.

When you change a shot time you want to change it by only half an hour per day. I would move each shot 15 mins earlier until you get to the time you want but you can also move just one of the shots by half an hour if you want to. Hope you’re having some lovely dreams now ...

So it looks like a bounce then, like yesterday morning. Don’t forget to update her spreadsheet when you test, it’s usually the first place we look, especially if the title of your first post isn’t updated. I hope it’s too late for you to do it now though and you’re already back to sleep :)

Goodmorning!!! (from Greece) :bighug: I wonder why all these bounces occur... Is that means that diabetes is not controlled yet? Today AMPS:368 and I can conclude that AMPS is always higher than PMPS so far... Maybe because she's sleeping all the night... (?)

The bounces happen when there’s a very fast drop or when the cat goes in to lower numbers than it’s used to - that could even be yellow numbers if the cat has got used to reds. It’s the liver having a panic and releasing stored glucose and hormones to ‘save’ the cat from what it thinks is danger. As the cycles get flatter and the cat’s body gets used to being in normal blood glucose numbers again the bouncing usually stops. AMPS is often the last number to come down, I don’t know why.

Chnoudi’s bounces aren’t lasting very long (they can last up to six cycles) so that’s a good sign. I’d get a +4 test today if you can. You don’t have any +4’s yet and today that should be a good time to let you know if she’s still bouncing or is coming down. Actually you might have the 284 from last night in the wrong column - it’s in +5 but your post said it was a +4.

Hope you had a good sleep :)

Ohhhh! How interesting all these!! and her liver is affected by diabetes, in her blood test a month ago ,the transaminase levels were really high!! That s why i give her a supplement for the liver. Anyway, so Im testing +4 today..!
Yeees, I made a mistake in the post, I was sooo sleepy ,I accidentally snoozed the alarm and actually tested at +5!!! I realised it in the morning!:p

The bouncing does get better - Cole's first month was all over the place and I felt like I was doing something wrong. But the last few weeks has been much better. I have the same problem with sleeping through alarms - hope today is a good one! :D
