HI ALL, it has been quite some time that I have posted anything. Ramone is doing SO SO well.

Just wanted to say Merry Christmas and Happy New Years!! And shout out to all the acro parents out there!

Its been just over 6 months since Ramone was diagnosed with acro/iaa, a year and a half since diabetes diagnosis. Our acro babies are a lot of work and there is a lot of time and dedication on our part in taking care of them. I'm currently only treating Ramone with insulin still, seemed to have found a good dose, for now, anyway. He's a spicy, bossy little boy. Even though his neuropathy never improved, he is fully on his hocks, this little boy can boogie around the house and still loves to squabble with his brother often! You'd never know this boy has any sort of condition.

Last routine vet appt, his weight has stayed the same pretty much, she's checked his eyes and vision to make sure everything was seeming to be OK there, which it was. Checked his blood pressure too and over all looks really well.
And in next couple months I will get his heart looked at, echocardiogram I think its called, not 100% sure, see how his heart is doing.

I'm so grateful for this group and page and everything I've learned along the way. I truly feel it was this group that has helped me be able to manage and treat Ramone.

I wish all the best for you all in 2021!!

Hi Jerica, good to hear from you and get a Ramone update. Good to know his BP is stable. An echocardiogram is an excellent idea to keep on top of things.

Give Ramone some scritches from me.

    Best of luck in 2021.

That is great news about Ramone. You are right, Acros are such a challenge. I think they give back to us, just a little more than the others (lol).

Ramone's spreadsheet is looking good. With neuropathy, it took Leo several months to show good improvement once his BG was regulated and he was getting Zobaline (B12). Keep up the hopes on that, it takes awhile. Happy New Year to you and Ramone.

Thank you ! Yes I'm keeping consistent with methyl-b12 supplements! I have been giving it to him for about 9 months or so now so I'm really not sure anything will ever change but that won't stop me from giving it to him! It could improve and I'll remain hopeful!

Happy New Years to you too!

That sounds like a great plan. From Ramone's chart, he does look better regulated in the last quarter of 2020. So there is much to hope for. When there is improvement with neuropathy it is gradual. It does help to "challenge" them. I used to put treats on the couch for Leo to get up get them. That helped him regain muscle and nerve usage in his back legs.
