Do Daa did pretty well on the 3.5U dose. Nice string of blues in the middle of the cycle.

Hope you did not get slammed with too much snow from this storm we just had on Thursday 12/17/20.

    Hi.

    He's doing a little better on 3.5u.

We ended up with 15"+ of very light snow. Still a pain to snowblow and shovel!

Another long AM but with good numbers. Numbers not so great today tho, probably some bouncing from the 64 and being loaded up with gravy from pmps on, to keep numbers from plummeting.

    Hi Goose,

Next time you have your 2021 SS opened, please drag the 2021 tab over to the left. That left hand tab is the one that opens, when we click on the link to the SS. Right now, the 2020 tab is still the first one on the left hand side, and that one opens first. Tiny detail, but it will make a world of difference as the year progresses and we open the SS to see what is going on.

    Thanks.

Nice steady yellows. I wonder if Do Daa is getting ready to break a bounce.

Thanks for the SS fix Goose. This time of year, I always have to remind myself, to double check that I'm looking at the correct year on the SS.

You do want to see Do Daa down in the lower blues and even high green BG range.

I don't think the 3.75U dose has been enough to get Do Daa out of those yellows most of the time.
So yes, I agree with your assessment to raise the dose to 4U.

Greens Today! I'm trying a 4u Skinny dose today as there seems to be a fine line between 3.75u and 4u for him. We'll have to experiment to see...

    Yellows today.

Deb, I have about a week or so left of Prozinc and then we are switching over to Lantus, I have syringes and Lantus on hand right now. I'll be in the Lantus forum from then on. Hope to see you there as you've been a great help here!

    Lantus is a good insulin.
Starting dose for lantus should be somewhere around the same dose as the Prozinc you are using. Maybe a bit less. Doesn't hurt to create a thread over there now and ask for second opinions. It will take time for the depot to build up, so you probably won't see the full effect of the lantus dose for a while.

There is a different style of posting in the Lantus forum. New post every day, link to your old post, update the header on your post as you get more BG numbers for the day. That is so that people can quickly scan the lantus ISG and spot people that need more immediate help.

So my recommendation is to please read the Stickies over in that ISG to see how things are done and be sure to read up on the protocols they use there.

I think because you use greenies so much to bring up Do Daa's BG levels, that might be considered to be feeding him dry food. So I'm not positive, but it may mean you will be following the SLGS lantus protocol instead of the TR lantus protocol.

Paws crossed that Do Daa can get more even BG levels on the lantus. It probably won't happen right away, but hopefully within a month or so after you switch over. Good luck!

Very nice string of blues and greens in the AM cycles.

When you switch to lantus, I think you will want to reduce the dose, to give the depot time to fill. So I'd think a starting lantus dose of 3.75U would be a good starting point.

Especially since Do Daa can drop really low. Being a bit conservative at first won't hurt.
