I have to leave in two hours for two hours. Any thoughts on when to test before I leave? :):cat:

Do you think 82@+ almost +5 is safe for 2 hrs plus? My husband will be home but doesn’t test.

Just being a DQ:p You were probably missing her anyway :D

It really was a dumb question :D

Dolly's ear is really red. Has anyone had that happen to their cat? Using Neosporin ointment. Doesn't seem to hurt her. Do I need her to go to the vet? Should I give her, her antibiotic? Should I ask this on Facebook instead of here? Is her reduction a failure?

Can you post a pic? Use the upload file button. I personally may not be able to help but perhaps someone will.

Have you always been using Neosporin or is it a new thing? Is her ear red where you apply it? If so you could switch to something like coconut oil incase she's having a reaction? Just throwing ideas around :bighug:

Yes, a pic would be good - seems there are usually more people on at night than in the morning - keep asking questions :)

Hope that red ear can be easily diagnosed and treated.

    Have a good evening!

I have always used hydrogen peroxide on Phoenix's ears after pricking his ear. I put it on a paper towel and just wipe it over his ear. Phoenix has never had an infection or soreness on his ears. The peroxide will very lightly bleach the fur on his ear but it will sterilize his ear and doesn't sting.

Thanks for your thoughts. Thanks about the upload a file, never knew you could do a photo. There is still a lot of stuff I don’t know. o_O Also, it is red before I use the neosporin. It’s been red before but usually goes away by next test.

I think it's really hard to know for sure what the red ear is from. Butters' ear sometimes gets red from multiple pokes and it can take a few days for that to subside. I also use neosporin or sometimes coconut oil. Her ear will also get red sometimes from her scratching at it too vigorously.
Have you looked inside of her ear to see if there is any wax build up or any scratches or something foreign? That could provide another clue. Just a thought:bighug:.

Thanks Lyla, I will check for wax or scratches. She does go at it sometimes. Have a wonderful night. :):bighug::)

Looks like a night of pokie breaks and sleep for Dolly and you, Adrienne! Are you still feeding her MC on this dose?

Jan 12, the night she wouldn’t eat. She had a tsp 11%. Dolly is hiding from me. Over pokes, over me. Ear is sore and she hates having her left ear poked. Hasn’t come near me all day. It’s been awful DQ:p it has been awful!! Goodnight. Have a lovely day Bhooma. :D

Do you think its not the poking but something else going on with the ear? I've never tried it myself but some folks use paw pads for testing too!

Paws are off limits. Sorry I sound like a crazy person, I am tired and feel so awful when she acts fearful of me. This how she was when we adopted her 7 years ago and I’ve tried so hard over the years of leaving her be or trying to find ways to make her feel safe. She’s definitely my cat, needs to be able to see me, follows me, waits for me, angry with me. Never had a cat like this, she’s a constant challenge that I love so much. Enough of that. Are we going to call it a failed reduction? Just as an aside, the food she will eat is not available anywhere. Spent the afternoon going from store to store. Online it is also not available. Most of the FF pates are not available. Mfg issues. Good night. Thank you. Please let me know about the reduction. One more day, that’s what we did on the last one, one more day.

I am sure she knows she is loved. :bighug:

Let's wait another day or two to take a call on the dose. :)
