Hi Tammy! You're doing fantastic. I can't stay though Elise may be on soon. If @Butters & Lyla or @Diane Tyler's Mom are on, they may be able to stay with you.

Did you feed at +2.25 with the 61? If not, it's okay - I'm interested to see your +2.5 reading.

Congrats on the reduction :) I think you'll go down to 0.1....but I'll let @tiffmaxee say :) so exciting!

Great job handling low numbers, Tammy! And @JaxBenji is right. The next dose is 0.10U. Congrats on the reduction! :)

Did you feed again when you got the +61?

That was really quite something considering Charlie has been on insulin less than a month. Most have panicked at blues and fed high carb when we were new to this! :D

It is still early in the cycle. Give him another spoon of the HC/Gravy.

Test again in half an hour.

If he stays up at +3, do not feed and get a +4 to see if he stays up without food. Anyway, post here and one of us will be here. I will watch out for his +3.
@tiffmaxee should also be here soon. :)

    As you should be! :)

On a side note, when you get more than one reading in a hour, you stack them up within the same cell. You will have to manually fill the colour of the cell yourself. Here's an example:

OK Thank you. I will get my husband to help me with that when he gets home. I am not sure how to add the colors myself, and if they are one color and then change to another color within that test spot do you put the lowest color?

Yes. You put the lowest colour. So in this case, the cell will say "47 @+2, 61 @+2.25, 59 @+2.5" and it will be coloured in lime :)

I’m late checking in this morning and missed all the excitement! Congrats on the reduction. Charlie came up easily. Well done managing the low. I had to print those directions out and read them often when Max dropped at 12 or 1:00 a.m. :D

This carb calculator will help you calculate carb%. Since you will be using the Guaranteed Analysis numbers on the label which are only indicative, the carb% wil only be approximate but it will give you an idea of whether a food is LC, MC or HC.
    http://www.scheyderweb.com/cats/catfood.html

    LC is 10% and below
    MC is 10-15%
    HC is above 15%

This food database also lists out various foods and their carb%

If it's Hill's Prescription M/D, it is 13% carbs which is MC

Yes. I think he is over the hump now. Feed him LC from here on. You might see a blue PMPS on account of him bouncing from that lime.

Bhooma is probably headed to sleep now. I would be inclined to get a +8 as a safety spot check.

I would, yes. Just to be sure Charlie doesn’t drop again once the HC wears off. Should be fine, as Bhooma says, but then you will know and have the data for a future cycles. some cats bobble up and down into PMPS.

Congrats on the reduction that you’ll take tonight :)
