I decided to start a new thread. The other one was too long.

So Blue started the day at 224 and +2 he's at 94. I'm thinking he must be higher
at night after the Prednisone. I'm thinking a drop at night but then I might have
to monitor through the night again. I'm not sure when to start the drop. Anyone
    have an idea?

    Hi Patty,

The best I can suggest is to get some BG checks every day in the hours after the evening feed and sacrifice a bit of beauty sleep and set alarms for a few nights to get spot checks on how his levels are running later in the PM cycle.

That might throw light on whether there's any pattern to the degree and duration of elevation of BG levels in the hours after the steroid dose. In turn, that may give you some bit of a steer on timing of administration of a (micro)dose if any insulin is indicated. At the moment, Blue's doing quite well to pull BG levels down in the early part of the day.

How are Blue, Brat and Teddy doing today? How are you?

Teddy is doing much better and actually sleeping. Brat is attached to me still. Poor bebe. She must have been traumatized
by being away for so long. She's doing great. Blue is able to jump onto the counter again. Oh joy!
I received the plastic containers today and am organizing all the medicine.

I'm okay. I have a lot going on. My niece went into the hospital this morning with low oxygen levels and fever from Covid.
    I'm worried about her.

    You and bug okay?

Sounds like his metabolism might be coming in to land. Glad he's doing well. (((Teddy)))

Awww! Limpet kitteh!!! She loves her mommy! (And so she should. ;) ) (((Brat))) :D

In fairness, that's not a bad complaint. ((((Blue)))) Is he showing any interest in sleeping in his 'special bed'?

Glad you're OK, Patty, but I'm sorry to hear your niece contracted covid. No wonder you're worried. I will pray for her. :bighug:

Same ol' same ol' for yours truly. Thus far Noodle's eaten better since introduction of the Integra Protect Renal food (anti-jinx) but she had another coughing bout yesterday (worried about her little heart). I need to book a telephone consult with her vet because I think she needs scans of some kind or other to check her heart and her abdomen, plus she's due another round of blood work. I want to let the new food bed in for a little while so that the test results will give me a clear picture of how she's doing on it.

    HI Mogs,
Blue's new bed was taken over by Mia and now he won't go into it. He goes into his room but he tipped
his water bowl off the table, he's a tipper and nothing is safe. Crazy boy. He moves to various chairs to nap.
He and Brat have been on me a lot today if I'm sitting down. Brat is laying beside me now curled up napping.
She wants to be touching me. They all doing pretty well but I'm frazzled trying to pill everyone, test Blue, and feed....Ackkkkkk

I'm happy for you that Noodle is eating. You can check that off of your worries. Why is she coughing?
Allergies or cold maybe? Are you okay?

Yes. Everything is good. Blue even had a lower BG of 79 I think it was at 3:30. I was surprised. Brat is rapidly gaining weight. She still hasn’t left my side. All is well.

They are treating my niece with oxygen and blood thinners. She will start on the drug remdesivir. It’s frightening because I listen to the news and hear what people go through. I have been unable to find a vaccine. My mom is 95 and I want to get her one ASAP.
    Anyone have any luck?

    Thanks Mogs and Elise.
Steph is doing a little bit better. The doctor said the crackle in her lungs was better.

Blue has stayed in the green and blue the last few days. Maybe he's settling into the prednisone.
