    Yesterday's Condo

Good Morning everyone! Back to work Monday .. oh wait...was that back to work Sunday? Saturday too? Seems like it never stops..

Luci had a lovely round of the zoomies yesterday and made it to some nicer looking beachy numbers before she started her ascent to the pink clouds - where she kept climbing higher and higher - I was wondering if she's got some dessert hidden somewhere??? Still this morning she in the pinks, so another increase on tap for today. I'm sure hoping we can get a breakthrough soon on these ever climbing numbers of hers.

I'm starting to have doubts about that thyroid procedure - it seems to have changed her ability to manage her diabetes - and not in a good way :(

She'll be having her first follow up blood work next week - about a month after the procedure. Let's hope that's enlightening.

I hope you all have a good day and that your kitties surf safely!

Nice to hear Luci is feeling good. Good luck with the new dose. I hope it helps flatten her out.

Hang in there, Sue :bighug: I'm sure we would all be feeling the same way. Paws crossed for finding the breakthrough dose.

Luci - for realz, pink is not your color. Come on down to the nice blue beach :cat:

Just checking in to see how Luci has been doing. Hopefully she'll come down for you soon. Luci, you know the beach is way nicer than the lemon tree or the clouds. Come on back down  Hope the increase will work magic for you, and that you are doing well. Have a great day, Sue :)

Is it normal for glucose to rise after the procedure?

Sue, give Luci time to recover from the i131. That does put her body through some changes, hormone-wise. It could take up to 6 months for all the numbers to settle. All you can do is treat the numbers as they are so it is still being managed. Best of luck!! :bighug:

Haven't got a clue - but apparently according to @Mandy & Rex it's possible. She seems well otherwise, eating well, playful, grouchy, the usual...no changes with her at all.

I tried to get into the Thyriod forum, it was impossible to navigate. It's not like this forum - based on emails going back and forth.

This is the reason I have always had a problem with some Vet "recommended" procedures. And with most Pharmaceuticals they prescribe for our Kitties.
There always seems to be side effects.
Hopefully it will just take more time for sweet little Luci to adjust to all the trauma she went thru.

I'm not sure what else could have been done about her hyperthyroidism - at the rate she was losing weight I don't think she would have survived very long without intervention.
I did my best with the gel applied to her inner ear - that caused her BG's to be very erratic. I was hoping this procedure might provide at least more stable numbers - they're stable alright..just high and stable...

As Mandy said above, it may take her some time to adjust to the change in her hormones now...it just seem so odd to me to see her BG's so high...

We'll figure it out :) Have a good evening JoyBee.:bighug:
