    Good morning everyone,

Casper had some good rest last night, I didn't test him; he ate a piece of FF chicken fillet by himself, I had to syringe feed him some water. He still refuses to drink water by himself, not even with the water fountain.

His AMPS reads 357 mg/dl, gave him 0.75U as scheduled. Restarted 6 cycles, correct?

Will he eat his food with water added? I saw your question on food. It’s hard. Look at the food chart on tanyas and try some that are around 1.0 phosphorus and the lowest you can find in carbs.

Yes, we blend his food with water, then syringe feed him 20-30 ML every other hour. I made a table from Tanya's food chart, I would have to order some new food for him. There are some low phos with high carbs; low carbs with high phos..:banghead:

It is very hard to find a food to manage both. The thing is it dues t see that his creatinine is so high. I keep wondering if he’s really stage 4 and if lowest phosphorus is needed. If an infection is missing with all his numbers maybe not. You need a really good diplomat in internal medicine. If you want to come to West Los Angeles you could go to a few here.

If you'd like, please email me the name of the vets or even your vet. I will see if we can go down there on a weekend. Weekday would be tough, with a kid doing distance learning and both of working full-time, it could be challenging, but it can be done with some arrangement.
I am going to pick up some Blue Natural Vet Diet KM support and I have My perfect pet low phosphorus food ordered. The closest store doesn't carry that specific diet. So should I start aluminum hydroxiede gel for him anyway? Rekha in the Tanya's group says his phos number looks good so far, as long as we keep him on the low-phos diet, we would not need phos bind now. His creatinine value in the latest lab is 2.0. I have the ALHO gel here.

My vet doesn’t work on weekends. He works M-Thursday from 8:30-5:30 and Friday 8:30-11:30 only. There’s a good internist at ASEC And I think he works on Saturdays but not sure.

His phosphorus does not require AH yet. Rekha knows what she’s talking about. She’s smart.

ASEC on the Sepulveda blvd? We can try to make an appointment there for a weekend. I am going to take Casper back to see my old vet tomorrow afternoon at 5 PM. So far, from all the treatments Casper's been received, he is the only one who works like Dr. Hadar, he is specialized in internal medicine as well. Unfornately, once he leaves the office, the party started in his facilities. He normally spends 5-10 mins with the patient, that's it. All the updates were coming from the tech...if I am lucky to get a good tech. (the last one forgot to take Casper's AMPS, forgot to give him his AM insulin shot on, that's why we pulled him out) The other thing we've noticed, once he leaves the office, the receptionists no longer enforce the no mask rule. People without masks talking on the phone in the lobby; there was an old lady coughing without a mask in there last time when I was picking up his diet food. Scary!!!! It's shame he let his business run down like that, absolutely a good vet, but bad facilities and staff.

Yet, Rehka is right, I don't need Casper to stay in their clinic, I need meds, fluid, follow-ups so I can treat Casper at home. I can always do the covid tests to make sure we are not infected.
