Brat is still doing ok but still has loose poo.
I'm going to get some more Biome food in hopes that will help her.

Stephanie is doing a bit better. Still on oxygen but they are trying to lower the amount to see how she does. Her lungs are starting to clear. My sister, her mom, is a mess...not Sally. It's our older sister Sue.
She can't sleep and is a nervous wreck. She's calling her doctor this morning. I'd be a mess too.

How are you and your bug?

I'm glad to hear that Stephanie is making progress, and I do feel for her mom. She must be at her wits' end. (((Stephanie and Sue)))

Good that Brat's doing OK in herself. I hope you get the poop situation sorted for her. (((Brat)))

Lúnasa had another couple of short coughing bouts over the weekend. I'm worried whether it might be something to do with her heart (she has HCM). Her mammy is stressed out of her tiny gourd because yesterday's snow meant I didn't get my grocery delivery and also my GPs have changed their online service for requesting repeat prescriptions. The change alone is enough to freak me out (even small changes are massive anxiety triggers for me) but on top of that the new system won't let me log in to order a repeat Rx and I'm already out of meds. :(

My sister got something for anxiety. I haven't heard anything more about Steph so hopefully that's good news.
Other good news is I am signed up for a Covid vaccine. It's not until April 28 but at least I'm signed up. I also
got my mom signed up and my brother who cares for her. They will call if they get cancellations which is
    probable.

Brat is eating litter again. Her poop is soft but solid. Blue is doing great!!!

I hope you get your food delivery soon. I get the anxiety about meds. Is there a phone number you can call
to place an order until you can get signed in for their new service? I've been dealing with things like that today
as well. I chalk it up to January. Always lots of changes at the beginning of the year.

Poor little Buglet. Are you taking her into her vet or is it too snowy? I know the worry. I hope you can talk to
someone about the coughing. That would frighten me too. (((Bug and Mogs)))

Thank you. I'm already dreading his next treatment. He's stronger now so I'm hoping he'll handle it better. I'm going to ask what I can give for a high fever if it happens again. I just wet him down and gave him syringes of water. It was scary but it worked.

My niece is a little better so we're very hopeful.
It's my sister I'm worried about now. She's a mess
    But I understand.

How are you and Butters? I see a sea of green.

Hoping the vet can give you something for fever, just in case. I'm glad your niece is a little better and I hope that she continues to improve. My heart goes out to your sister. I can only imagine what she must be going through.

We're doing fine, thanks for asking! Juggling Butters' health issues, which has been going okay so far. And yes, she has been in a sea of mostly green:D. I'm not sleeping much but I'd rather no sleep than no green:D. So I hope it continues.

Butters does have a lot going on. I've been there on the no sleep. My sister Sally has been doing the same with her Lily.
At least we're retired but you still work don't you? It's really hard to juggle everything but I'd go back to staying up all
night vs cancer. Looks like many of us have multiple diseases going on with our kitties.
BTW what a cute face Butters has.

I'm signed up for the vaccine on Thursday. Sally told me Publix was releasing new appointments this morning at 6. I got up early to be ready and scheduled for 5 people. You have to do each separately but I got them. YAY

Good news for Blue. He hunted last night and was loud and proud of his furry toy catch. He's doing quite well. :cat:

Awe thanks. She usually has a very ticked off, demanding look on her cute little face. Very fitting for her.
Yes, I've still got many years left in the workforce. I think I got "lucky" (as lucky as one can get about these things) because COVID has had me mainly working from home since Butters was diagnosed. So I'm at least seizing it as my golden opportunity to really work on getting Butters regulated and allowing her to stay in lower normal numbers as much as possible since I can be home to monitor most of the time...while on conference calls lol.

I didn't realize until now that Sally is your sister. She's doing a great job with Lily.

That's nice you can try to get her regulated while you're home. I hope you can do it and it looks like you're close. Such a cute baby. I can't imagine her being demanding....haha she's a cat.

Yes, I was just on with Blue and then Sally’s Lily was diagnosed. Weird right? Anyway, I told Mogs and Elise to look for her and they were ready and waiting when she signed in. Bless them for helping us both.

I was so happy hearing him hunting. It was the middle of the night and he was very loud. I was happy though.

Stephanie just posted on FB warning people about how bad Covid is. She posted pictures of herself laying on her stomach in order to breathe. It's horrible. She looks awful and I'm more scared now than I was. I'm so glad Sue is not on FB to read and see her post.

That's a very courageous and caring thing of Stephanie to do, Patty, because there's so much nonsense circulated by the hard of thinking on social media and, to a degree, by idiotic pundits on TV and in the press. She may help save lives through that action. That said, it is a good thing that her mom isn't able to see the pictures. Seeing her baby girl so ill would be like a knife to her heart. (((Sue)))

I can relate to that very much. I feel similarly now that the Noodler has resumed her "I've just had a poop!" announcements. She has always been a real singer, and having her go so quiet for so many of the last few months was really sad. It's great to hear her little voice again (anti-jinx!).

    Hi Patty,

Brat's litter eating behaviour niggled at me and then I remembered that it's mentioned on Tanya's Site. Don't know whether the info will be of any help, but might be worth a look-see alongside Brat's most recent blood test results. See anaemia and calcium imbalance links on this page:

Interesting Mogs. I've always wondered if she was deficient in some vit or min.
I will check it out. Thank you. You are a world of information. :bighug:

    HI guys,
All is well...Blue is eating non-stop. I had to give him a little dry food so I could eat my lunch.
He's been sleeping with me the last two nights. Brat is right beside me which she has been
since getting out of the hospital. She has a checkup tomorrow.

A respiratory therapist came in to see Stephanie and she reduced her oxygen again and they're going to
work with her this weekend so she might be able go home next week. Great news and
my sister is feeling much better hearing this.

Hope you are both well and your furbabies. :bighug:

    Hi,
Yes, Stephanie is doing better. They reduced her oxygen last night but had to go up a little
this morning. They're working with her to help her breathe better. Her blood pressure has
stabilized and that's about all I know. Good news though that she's improving. Thanks for
    the prayers.

I had my first Covid shot this morning as well as mom, my brother and 2 friends. Sally gets her's
today as well. I wish Tara (my daughter) could get one but hopefully soon.

Blue is doing well. Eating eating eating and eating. Crazy boy, but he's gaining some weight back.
Speaking of weight, Brat is 5.9 from 4 pounds. She had to go for a checkup today and Dr. Johnson
was happy with her progress. She looks so much healthier. We just got home. Brat is talking again.
Drove me crazy in the car but I love it.

Back to Blue. He seems to be in the green during the day, but in the morning and evening he's in
the blue. I'm not sure if he needs to be on insulin or not. Any thoughts? I don't want to stay up
all night monitoring him and he seems to go down on his own after breakfast.

I got my first dose of Moderma[ yesterday. Very sore arm. Which did you get?

I would continue as you are as far as insulin. See what Marje thinks though.

It might be worth considering gradually shifting the time you give the pred dose to earlier in the day. You'd be able to monitor for higher BGs during the daytime cycle and, should it transpire that Blue needed a little help from insulin, you might only need to give a dose once a day while levels are being impacted by the steroid. I also think that if insulin is needed then the starting point should be the tiniest microdroplet manageable (as discussed on some of Blue's earlier threads).

I'm really glad to read that Stephanie's clinical signs have been improving, and that the Bluebird and your wee Brat are doing well - and regaining some weight! :cat:

It's great that so many of your family have had their first vaccine dose, Patty. I hope it's not too long before Tara gets hers too. :bighug:

He’s not really getting a huge bump out of the pred. What about just trying a drop (which is less than 0.1u) bid? I’d try that first before changing his pred time because you want to see what the effects are first. Then, if needed, you can move the pred time.

I’m glad Stephanie is improving and you and Elise got vaccinated. I’m Elise’s age and haven’t been able to get my first one yet.:eek::confused:

I got Moderna as well. My arm is not sore yet but might be tomorrow. Did you sign up with CDC on V-safe? They text every day for a week to check on you and any symptoms you have. They then check once a week then once a month. If you're having issues they call you.

I see Marje posted so I'll read what she thinks as well.

Hi Mogs. Steph posted again and looks better. She still is getting blood thinners and they're watching her BP. Her breathing is improving. I'm hopeful.

When are you thinking is dose him? I'm thinking evening is when his BG is elevated.

Where do the live? It's crazy because every state is different. I've been searching for a vaccine for a few weeks. I got signed up for one an hour away and it was for the end of April! I would be dead by then. I had to get up at 5:30 and signed up for today close by. They were out of vaccine within minutes. The systems to sign up crash and you go around in circles. I almost cried last week I got so frustrated. I wish you luck. :bighug:

I just tested Blue and he's at 104 PMBG. I was a little late with his pred because I took Brat to the vet at
his normal test time. He is so uncooperative now. :arghh:

I was thinking of every 12 hours....not just once a day.

I’m in Tucson. Our county is usually really on top of things. Right now, it’s a shortage of vaccine. I’m registered and look for appts every day. It is so frustrating.

OH okay, I can do a drop every 12 hours.

I was lucky. My sister heard Publix was getting more vaccine and they were going online with it at 6 a.m. They listed all the stores getting the vaccines and how many and as you got in to sign up you could see the vaccines dwindling. I was so nervous but I got myself and 4 other people
vaccines. I think you should search something like that because I was randomly looking but nothing was ever available. Our local news also reported it, but if I hadn't been up at 5:30 they would have been gone.
