Hi Marje!! Thank you so much! Pearl is my little wonder girl and I am so happy for her! PS - a question to pick your brain!!! are her occasions blips into the lower blues anything I need to be worried about with respect to her dose? :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Last night and today, she had inverted curves. If we just see them occasionally, it’s not a big deal. If she starts having them a lot more, she might be getting tired of this dose. The extra “unknown” with Pearl is she is so carb sensitive that the 3% can be driving her up a bit and then wears off.

This is interesting - inverted curves. I don't know what causes them, but they sure looked a little "off" to me! I had actually been wondering about the carbs, so am glad you brought that up. I have been thinking on those nights perhaps I've fed too much of the 3% carb early on in the cycle rather than waiting to see if she really truly needed it.

And in true-to-Pearl-form, after having this lovely conversation with you, she is now this morning...50 @+1.5. Part of me wonders if I didn't test so often or be so specific with the foods, whether she would just earn her reduction already :nailbiting:

Well, she might but it might be too soon.

You want to be able to hold the dose as long as is safely possible although, certainly, for others reading, the goal is not to solely prop up the BG with HC food. In Pearl’s case, she is eating LC even if she is carb sensitive. The longer you can hold her at a dose that is working so well just using the LC food, the more her pancreas will heal.

Thank you! Yes!, Elise mentioned her pancreas healing this morning too - the BEST thing!!

Ok so this brings up a whole new set of questions for me then. For others reading, Pearl is extremely carb-sensitive so her situation with LC/MC etc is different (just so you all know). Marje, I will message you my question - I don't want to throw others off b/c its an atypical thing.

You can post them on today’s condo. Even though it is cat-specific, there are things others can learn.

We are headed out right now for the day to get fud :p but I’ll be back on tonight if that’s ok?

Yup, no worries, nothing is emergent. I have to go get food too soon. I will write tonight after I think out how best to word things. Thanks for everything! xo
