    Yesterday's condo
I'm glad Grem wasn't low today and seemed really well too! Work was CRAZY! I work in aged care and our residents all got the C-19 vaccine today. Some of the first in Australia!! Made for a hectic day...

Not giving Grem Bupe last night seemed to work. There was no odd behaviour and he was good today.

I had two minutes to spare at lunch so sat down, Grem came running (more like jogging) to me from the door and looked up at me for a cuddle *heart eyes emoji* We had a lovely, albeit short, cuddle. How an almost completely blind and partially deaf cat can know exactly where his mumma bean is has got me stumped! He just knows. I'm so glad he had such a good day, I just wish I'd been home for more of it.

Vines and prayers to all that need them.

Yay! A good friend of mine here works in elderly care, she's been able to breathe a sigh of relief now all the residents are vaccinated.
DH and I were talking about Australia just starting it's vaccine program.

Lol George is totally deaf and his sight is not too good (cataracts) I have to be careful not to startle him because he doesn't here me coming if he's looking the other way, if I surprise him he shouts at me, it's like he's saying 'Where the heck did you spring up from!':joyful::joyful::joyful:

That's so sweet. Gremlin loves you soooo much! I didn't realize he had lost so much eyesight. Is it just old age eyesight loss? Did you get the vaccine as well, since you work there?

Grem has hypertension (high blood pressure) which was unfortunately discovered quite late and only thanks to the bad eye sight. The blood pumping behind the eyes cause the retinas to detach. It did initially improve slightly after he started medication but has since declined again. I'm not sure whether that's due to age or the vet halving his meds last month. He's having his BP checked this Friday.

No vaccine for staff just yet. As we've only got so many in Australia at the moment, aged care residents, hotel quarantine workers and border workers have been prioritised. Aged care staff are next on the list.

    I will Katy!
I hate needles too but get the flu jab every year so I'm sure it'll be okay... Apparently it doesn't hurt or so the ressies tell me.

The only time I ever got the flu jab was in 2019 and I was coming to Australia on holiday and you guys were having a bad flu season. I thought I was so grown up choosing to get a vaccine. AND I WAS GROWN UP! Was very proud of myself. It wasn't all that bad, I just hyped myself up so much that I almost passed out....

I'm sure the residents wouldn't tell you porkies. Although I find the elderly to be tough as guts when it comes to things like injections, needles, etc. I'm very much a delicate flower lol

Oh my gosh! Hahaha! You've made my day. I have a story for you too...
Many years ago one of my cats bit me and it got infected. I needed to have a tetanus shot (not a booster) and they HURT so I took my then very young son with me so that I had no choice but to go, suck it up and be brave!! He held my hand the whole time  hahaha! I'm a delicate flower too

Haha I love it!!!! Kids always force you to be brave! I have YET ANOTHER story for you. I had one of my close female friends (the female bit is important lol) come with me to get a blood test because as we have established, I'm a wuss. Anyway, I asked her to hold my hand and the nurse immediately started asking questions about how we met, have our parents met, etc. And also mentioned that our parents should have a BBQ. I knew that she thought we were a couple and I just went along with it. But when we left, my friend was like "That was weird. Why does she want our parents to have a BBQ?" And then she clicked. Hahaha it was very funny. It still is. Funny thing is, my friend is actually gay and she didnt pick up on that. Hahaha. I think that's the last of my injection stories.

    Have a wonderful evening, Laura!
