We recently went up to 2.5 units twice a day and we are finallyyyyyyyyy seeing some progress. We have been doing this dose for three days. I am wondering if someone could be so kind as to check out our spreadsheet and let me know if I should hold here or go up?

    TR says

"Hold each dose for 5-7 days. However, if the cat is producing continuously high BGs (nadir always >=300 mg/dl), only hold the dose for 2-3 days before increasing it by 0.5 IU. Alternatively, if the cat is continuously producing moderately elevated BGs (nadir always >=200 mg/dl), increase the dose every 2-3 days by 0.25 IU "

I am too new to dispense advice, but TR says you can increase. I am sure @Bandit's Mom or someone else will be along today to weigh in.

See if you see blue today. If not I would increase tonight to 2.75.

Okay thank you. I’m so happy we’re actually getting some lower numbers I know we’re not totally there yet, but we’re not in the 700’s so I’ll take it.

Thank you we are trying very hard. But yes it has been super defeating to see him so high so when we got some yellows and pinks I was ecstatic lol.

of all the things I had to learn about FD, from carb calculations to insulin depots and hypo signs...the mental and emotional toll is one of the more challenging things to get under control imo.

When you're seeing the same numbers day after day and the high numbers just seem endless, the bouncing after you finally see a low number....ugh. Very difficult to come to terms with, for me. Take lots of deep breaths, give yourself extra hugs and try to remember it is a long slow process, getting to regulation. Patience is key but I did not have much of it, I wanted my boy better NOW dammit.

Looking at Lou's SS, I get a sense that you're close to what some call a breakthrough dose, where the bouncing stops and BGs stabilize. Keep plugging away and trust in TR it'll come.

Awesome to see that yellow preshot. :)

Black numbers are appropriately coloured, as that's how our mood feels when we see them. :bighug: Been there, hated them too. Keep in mind that you are using the AT too. So the higher numbers you are seeing will look higher than those using human meters exclusively.
