    Hi All,

I have been on this forum for the past ten years and have met such lovely, caring people. And it has inspired me daily to see new members jump in to help other new members, and people who lost their diabetic kitty years ago help out, and for others who used ProZinc once and have switched come back to help. So it is with a heavy heart that I have to say I must leave the forum. It will go on just fine without me, but I didn't want to just stop posting without explanation.

My DH had a stroke and although he has improved in some ways, his memory has not. And it is challenging and exhausting for both of us. I have tried to come on for the past month when I have a minute or two, but I find that I can't keep up and be effective without the daily contact.

What an amazing place this is, and what a shining example it is of "paying it forward". Keep it up friends!

I'm sorry to hear about your DH. I'm thankful for all of your advice. You will be missed and I hope things get better for you and DH.
I wanted to share the name of a drug that helped my mother after her anoxic brain injury (after 45-60 minutes of CPR). It's been used with traumatic brain injuries as well.
It's called "Amantadine". It might be worth asking his doctor about.

Dear @Sue and Oliver (GA) -- I am sorry to read this. You and your DH are in my thoughts. You need to do what is best for you, but please stop back if you ever need support from your friends here. We will be happy to listen, and offer any advice/support that we can for what you are going through. Again, not trying to convince you to stay, but I've just come to realize that this board is about much more than diabetic kitties and their caretakers. :)
I will always remember your kindness and guidance when Cliff and I first joined this board. I always appreciated and took to heart your feedback and advice.
Truly wishing you the best! Healing, positive thoughts to you and your DH!:bighug::bighug::bighug:

    Dear Sue,
so sorry you have been hit so hard.
You have been so fantastic and helped so many of us that it is really difficult to let you go but I can understand that now you need to concentrate on your own problems.
Let's hope your DH will recover fully given time, I'll keep both of you in my prayers.
    Sending lots of love,
    Marlena :bighug::bighug::bighug:

When I was a mere lurker on FDMB I learned so much from the advice you gave others. It was always so calm, reasonable, useful and delivered with great tact and kindness. I was thrilled that you responded the day I actually joined FDMB last August. And I'm still thrilled if I give advice to someone and you also respond and agree.

I understand how difficult and draining it is to cope with a serious health crisis, either your own or a family member's. There's only so much "helping energy" we can muster at one time and it has to be directed where it's most needed. For you, right now, it's caring for your husband.

Let's just leave it as the French say, "Au revoir." :bighug:

Oh Sue. I remember when I joined here in 2013 and you were constantly there helping me. Every time I saw your advice it was so comforting and helpful. I still remember when I had to let Gypsy go that I was able to because you told me that whatever decision I made would be right because it was from the heart. I learned basically everything I know from you and I began helping out here because I wanted to pay it forward for you. As Kris said, whenever you agree with something I've said, I felt thrilled!

You've given so much of yourself to this community and know that you will ALWAYS be in our hearts. Your husband is most important, and of course we understand that.

You will be missed...please know that you ALWAYS have a family here if you are ever in need of one.

((((Sue)))) - I'm so sorry to hear of your husband's stroke. Glad he's recovering; praying for full recovery. Your presence will surely be missed. I appreciate every minute of hand-holding and reassurance you've given us and know that Hershey (who just turned 15!) would not still be around if not for you and others who taught us so much! Hershey actually exhibited hypo symptoms for the first time New Year's Eve, and, while it was a scary situation, I was able to remain calm because of what you and this forum taught me.

    God bless you -

Libby & Doug (& Hershey, too!)

Sue, I'm so very sorry to hear about your DH's health struggles. I will keep you both in my prayers.

You will be greatly missed here on FDMB. You have helped so many of us, with wisdom and kindness, so many times! Please do stop by when you can, just to say hello and let us know how you and your DH are doing. You are always part of the FDMB family, and we love you, even if we don't "see" you very often!

    Many, many (((hugs))) and prayers,

Oh Sue life is the pits sometimes . . . my prayers are with you and your family.

I wasn't going to say anything because I don't have the words to thank you for everything you
did for Payne and myself, always the voice of reason in what often seemed a hopeless maze. I
could always count on you being there, guiding me with much patience. I feel your help
especially, gave Payne six years she would not have had, without you I would still be running
in the night! You have done an especially good job here these last 10 years, touched many
    hearts, thank you.

Dear Sue, I just saw your post (as you know that i've also not been around due to private matters) i'm so sad to see your post!
We all get your point of not being able to keep up with this board and taking care of your DH.
I wish you all the best, and like Bobbie said, hopefully when you do have the time, please drop by and let us know how you are doing.

Thank you so much for always being around for everyone here. You've also been my support here when I was anxious and in need of help with Baco and you were always around! <3 thank you sooo sooo much Sue :bighug::kiss:

I'm so so sad to read this. Sue, All my thoughts are with you and your husband. There is nothing I can say to thank you enough for all your help with everything I went through with Tempest. I may not be here so much, I may not have gotten to say goodbye - I hope you will find this at some point and know how much you are and always will be appreciated by me and the others on these boards.

    Prayers
    Tara
