Full Beaver Moon Party tonight--all invited!

Kitties All--

Let's gather together, sugars and civvies, for the Full Beaver Moon! Of course there will be traditional favorites as purrpared by my mentor, Chef Rusty, and the Kitchen Krews of yore at Beaver Moons past:
Appetizers: Moon Microbrews; Moontinis; Pumpkin Soup; Cimmamum-spiced Beaver Chews; Assorted Paw Prints Pizzas; Sushi Bar manned by LL Sushi Chef Tux and featuring Chef Neko's fabulous Sushi rolls made with Beaver River Fish.
Entrees; Big Moose Chili; Campfire-Roasted Chicken with Catnip Glaze; Grilled Beaver River Rainbow Trout; Grilled Wild Turkey Sausage with Rosemary and Goat Cheese; Michigans (hotdogs) with the Chef's Special Sauce.
Salads: Beaver River Slaw with Maple Sap; Butthead's and Donny's marinated Adirondack Field Greens.
Desserts: Maggie's Signature Pumpkin Cheesecake with Maple Syrup; Tobey's Cimmamum Cookies; Cranberry-Apple Pies à la Chief Pastry Chef Tess; Surprise Riverbank Dessert à la Dessert Chef Sootie.
Among our newer traditions are Leo's Chunky Tuna and Salmon Ice Cream with Sardine Sprinkles and Chef Felix's Sweet and Savory Crunchy Crouton Toppers (not just for salads, they go with everything!). Don't forget to head on over to the Tiki Hut where Bella will be mixing those catinis!

I'm also hoping Dusty (@PussCatPrince - GA) can bring her yummy crispy birds feet served on baked catnip wafers, and sweet and sour skink tail vol-au-vents & freeze dried plain yoghurt balls. If that's too much for you, Dusty, maybe you'd be willing to teach the Kitchen Krew to make them: do you use fresh or frozen voles for the vol-au-vents?

Olive (@Olive & Paula) brought shark steaks to our last full moon party, which were very popular, but I'm a fretful kind of kitty and may fret too much if Olive is shark-hunting, even if she has helpers (especially if she has helpers?!). I don't want to tell you what you can do, Olive, but maybe you can find plenty to do where it's nice and safe, like near the Taster Blankets? Or is that too tame for a girl on Cabergoline?

Speaking of Taster Blankets, that is the place for kitties who are grieving and for kitties who are too unwell for dancing and feasting (but we hope we can coax you to have a taste). They're a little away from the dancing and whooping-it-up, but there's an excellent view for the Circle of Remembrance, when the veil thins between us and our beloved GAs at the Rainbow Bridge and we can purrceive them partying with us. Taster Blanket Coordinator Idjit and his helpers make the Taster Blankets a comfy, purring place (and you do not want to miss his dancing!). Roxi (@manxcat419) will be noting Tasters' comments and communicating with the Kitchen to make sure every taste is always up to the highest standards of Chef Rusty and our other celestial chefs.

Ohmeowgosh, it's getting dark already! I'd better go finish up my batch of crunchy croutons!

We'll be there, we being me and my brudder. Sorry, no fresh mice again at this party. Momma has me grounded again, something about being 5 degrees last night and not needing me to drop like a rock in the cold, yatta yatta yatta.

Idjit is all excited, getting ready to help his very special friends enjoy the event. He's going to make sure each and every one gets tasty treats, soft warm blankets and pillows, hugs and gentle head rubs. He's been working on some new dance moves to dazzle the gals. He can't wait to send his love to the very dear ones on the other side of the veil.

 

No worries Felix!!! I gots plenty of sharks today so all we haz to do is cut dem up into little shark bites!!

What an awesome menu! Katie is rushing out the door and can't wait to party and see all the GAs the other side. I won't be waiting up for her.

Roxi and the gang have already left. Roxi was very excited at her new role helping out with the taster blankets. She spent all morning getting herself looking just right before rounding up Licorice and Luna and heading out. Each of our cats has a special message to give to Rosa and Regan at the Circle, so they are all looking forward to it very much.

 

Bailey is on her way. She's looking forward to the shoelacegetti!

 

Oh and pickles, can't forget them.

 

Shoelacegetti and pickles can be a new tradition! Not made with real shoelaces, of course, but we can play with our shoelacegetti before we eat it.

Thanks for providing for the shark bites, LagoonMeisterin! Delicious! But please don't feel that you have to get some for every party--your momma might not like that.

Hmm, I don't know, that sounds kind of complicated. So instead, the pastrycats have made you some special cream puffs; maybe if you put one in a baggie, it would look swan shaped?

 

Luci wanted to go to the pawty last night - but somehow got sidetracked and ran off to the lagoon - chasing sharks I think! That girl didn't even slow down at the beach - just roared right on in - always so dramatic! Looks like it was a great pawty!!!

 

Oh my, the clowder was way ahead of me last night. I fell asleep early and awoke amidst the waning of the moonbeams and found this note from Dancer (her being polydactyl seems to make her penmanship more...hmmmm...legible ):

Hi, Mom. We decided to hitch a ride on the moonbeams to visit all of our friends, help with all of the Full Beaver Moon festivities and join in the chorus with the lifting of the veil to be closer to all our friends and loved ones who’ve gone ahead. We’ll be home in time for breffis...a light breffis please, though. Love and scritches, Dancer, Bella and Spunky. P.S. Sootie asked us to pass along that she, along with lots of her fellow GA’s, cajoled the beavers to share some of their birch branches and they all made a wicked batch of birch beer for the party! Some of it will be in Sootie’s surprise dessert...but as always, it’s a surprize!

It’s now sunbeam time, everyone’s back home, and indeed ready for a very light breffis cuz they said the party, the fud, the company was great and the circle of remembrance was super special. They’re more than ready for naps and I am off to the shop!

And even though I’m not on the board much these days, the fdmb family is always in our hearts and the full moon gatherings are very dear and special times of fellowship, remembrance and belonging. Thank you all. ❤️❤️❤️

 

We are so delighted to see a party and so many old favorites on the menu!!! And so very happy Chef Rusty had a mentee! We miss our sweet Zener since he went ahead in 2014, we miss all the LL GA kitties, my how time flies. We have two brand new tuxedo brothers, Max and Mason, adopted just a few weeks ago. Both were trapped at 4 months, and we adopted them at six months. We think they are turning in their feral cards, but we will need to be convinced before we can send them off to a full moon party. Those things get crazy!!!
