    Last week: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=24123

Bear Man is doing much better this week. He had a rough couple of weeks and had pretty much stopped eating, so he spent the long weekend on injected steroids, Bupe, and Cerenia. On Monday night I came home from an airshow and he was chowing down on his own on a bowl of his renal kibble. He has been accepting the odd nibble of canned FF as well. His appetite is back to around 80% of normal. It must have been a bad CP/IBD flare, and it seems to be behind us. WCF pointed out that I should probably be increasing his phosphorus binder dosage, but I want to make sure that his tummy is very stable before I do that.

At his weekly vet visit, his PCV was down to .24, so he got a shot of Aranesp for his anemia. It looks like he can go three to four weeks between shots. Now that he is eating again, his BG numbers are back in the yellows, and have I added a drop to his dose. I'm just so happy to see him eat, and to see him come back from another setback, like the Energizer Bunny/Bear.

The other big news is that we finally got a nanner. Three out of four kitties recommend the nanner. Bear Man is not one of them.

The crockpot experiment went well last week. It's like magic. You put meat and potatoes in, and stew comes out. I'm not pushing my culinary luck, however. Tonight, it's back to take out Thai food.

Bear Man looks so cute handsome. So he doesn't like nanners, huh?

I'm glad to hear he had a good week and is back to eating well, again. Your such a great momma bean.

Linda!!! SO happy to read your report this morning!! I am happy that Bear Man is doing better with his eating!

We were SO happy to see Bear Man in his back mickey mouse ears at the New Moon party! That was so great! It was a spur-of-the-moment party and we were glad that Teddy and he got the word and came too!
(I guess Raja had a talk with him at the new Moon Party last week. I didn't add that in my write-up about the party, but I know that she took him aside for a change. It's usually Bear Man being the adviser to all the kitties, but this time she felt she wanted to give him a piece of wisdom. She told him to just fake it...eat a little and before you know it, you will be back to eating like normal again.) By the way, Full Moon Party on the 23rd! fll_moon

So, Bear Man doesn't like the nanner? I never got one of them either...where did you find it? I have never seen them at all...
I hope that he continues to eat and gets his appetite back to 100% soon. Glad your beef stew was a success! And thanks for posting the picture of our Bear Man....you are such a wonderful mama Bean...and an inspiration to me always! Sending hugs to you all... :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Aww Bear Man, I'm so glad you got most of your appetite back. Your WCR made my day, and Linda your cooking adventures made me giggle!

I hope both Bear Man and the cooking improve steadily, lol!

    YAHOO! Go Bear Man Go!

What an awesome report! I am so relieved that our Bear is outta the woods for a bit now.
And I guess you need to find something better than that nanner for Bear Man.

The sun is shining here and it sounds like we have happy sunny days in the BearMan household.

I hope you and the household have a fabulous day and weekend, Linda!

Yay for Energizer Bear!!!! I can't believe that he doesn't love his nanner, though. What a silly Bear!

I'm so relieved and thrilled that he seems to be feeling better and is eating. I know that you must be relieved too.

    Thank you for asking, Miriam.

Miss Emily is having a lot of trouble with her arthritis (aren't we all ...), but is otherwise well. She has adopted the new lemon as her baby.

Teddy Man is also feeling well these days. He likes to get stoned on the nanner. Note the drool.

Pinkerton also is a fan of the nanner. When he isn't giving it a bath, he is hanging on to it with his magnetic toes.

I hope Bear continues on the "eating roll". Nice report. Kudos to both you and Bear Man, great pictures as well. Have you ever tried MSM for the arthritis? I have found it very helpful.

btw--- winnie and wolfie both ignored nanners. maybe it's a more tropical weather thing we don't have

glad all the furries are doing (mostly) well. hoping this colder weather doesn't get miss emily too flared up.

may next week be another good one for Bear and Co.

love the WCR, I'm so happy Bear is eating.

For Siamese Rescue we sell those toys at cat shows. Once I had to drive 2 hours with a big box of nanners and lemons in the car. I was starting to get high, I think. Had to roll the windows down.
