Are there any cats on here that don't want to eat that much?

I was wondering about how little a cat can eat before running into problems because I know that Elvis sometimes will only eat a can and a half of Fancy feast and sometimes he's eating less than that. I try hard to make sure he eats at least two cans but I'm very very worried about this because I am worried about fatty liver disease. I give him a multivitamin with each one of his meals in the morning and in the evening but he also has food during the day but I try to make him eat. I'm always following him around and putting the food in front of him because that's just what I have to do and I will do whatever it takes to make him eat and have even had to finger feed him!!! I'm also giving him what is called shroom immune, which is a compliation of five different types of mushrooms into a powdered formula and I believe that what I have been giving him as of supplements have really helped him also I found the vet from heaven and she loves this site. I must add though Elvis has a couple of bad teeth that need to be pulled and he needs to get his teeth cleaned. She wants Elvis to lose 5 more pounds and then we will be able to do the teeth work. I said to her well there's hope and she said yes of course there's hope and we will get this taken care of. Elvis was 20 pounds he is now 17.8 but this is been over the past year! I'm also wondering if it's because his numbers have gone down around 117 ??
I haven't kept up with my chart I've had a lot of stress and I've been going through some verbal and mental abuse from a roommate of mine and now I am going to be moving out as of the 30th so I'm going to be away from that stress!
I would like to add that I tried syringe feeding him and that was a disaster. if I'm going to try to make him eat the only thing that has worked is if I finger feed him, meaning I put some food on my finger and rub it on his tongue this takes a little while but like I said I'm willing to do whatever it takes to get the food into him. It's just that I'm so worried about fatty liver disease and if anybody has any information on that oh, that would be great. I'm going to call my vet and ask her if there is anything that they can prescribed for Elvis that would stimulate his appetite but like I said before sometimes he does eat the two cans of Fancy feast but that's not very often at all.

    Hi Paula
Here is a real great link, I found it very helpful when I was trying to get George to loose weight.
    https://catinfo.org/feline-obesity-an-epidemic-of-fat-cats/#Safe_Rate_of_Weight_Loss
it's important that he get enough food so that he doesn't end up with liver problems, but all that is discussed in the link above.

George also had bad teeth that had to get pulled out, when they were hurting he went off his food in a big way.
Once he got to being more regulated, his appetite also subsided.

I'm sorry you've been in a stressful situation at home.
As far as the data goes, I can see that it's been quite a while since you last updated it, rather than making a big job out of it why not just start recording what you get now, and maybe go back through the numbers in your meter and recording the last couple of weeks.
After all it is the more recent data that is the most important.

I am a bit concerned when you say you give a multivitamin with each of his meals night and morning. How strong are the multivitamins?
Are they cat vitamins which are meant to be given twice a day or human vitamins?
The fat soluble vitamins can’t be peed out if excess is given but are stored in the body and it is easy to accumulate too much and cause damage.

Do you have a digital scale? If not get one from Amazon or eBay. The health-o-meter is a good one around $40-50 depending on which day you look. Cats need to lose very slowly or they can get fatty liver disease. I used the cat info site to help my friend’s cat lose 4 pounds and it took about a year. When Max became diabetic he gained and I was not able to get it off because he wasn’t active no matter what I tried.
