I haven't slept at all tonight. It's 6 am now. I am not sure what and if to shoot.

I'm scared, worried dose is too strong now and will not be able to monitor tightly because I need to sleep and then I have errands to run and appointments etc. I am not comfortable with keeping the 4u dose anymore (as I said in previous thread, I fed him HC and some honey to keep him up, but still greens).

    Should I:
    - shoot a reduced dose of 3.75
    - shoot a reduced dose of 2
    - no shoot?

Stalling at 6am right now. Not fed yet but I know he's higher than an hour 1/2 ago. Thanks!

If you're too tired to test and have to be out running around today, you might want to give a BCS this time so you don't have to worry quite so much. Are you able to get a +2 today?

BCS= Big Chicken Shot (like maybe 2U)

It's also perfectly fine to skip....sometimes it's necessary for our own welfare! Just call it a furshot and try to get a nap in today.

Thanks @Chris & China (GA) , yes I guess we don't have to worry about ketones right now...
I'll try the 2 units maybe then?

Sounds like a plan! Get a +2 if you can and if you have to go out, grab a quick test before you go so you'll know if you should leave down something higher carb to cover while you're gone

I am officially a big chicken for the second time. I shot 2.5u.
Last time I shot a BCS, I learned that I shouldn't have, however his AMPS was blue, not green. I will most likely learn the same this time again. But I guess we must go through this close hand experience in order to feel more comfortable. Thanks again!

I need to recharge my brain because I am delirious right now.

You gotta do what you think you can handle - don't fret too much. It's all part of the diabetes learning curve.

Oh Penelope! That's beautiful! I'm sorry the lower numbers were scary and that you were up all night - but Macka looks like he's enjoying his new home in France and seems insistent on hitting those great numbers!

    You've both come so far!!!

Hang in there! You're doing great! Hope you can get some rest today.

Yes! It is a French miracle honestly. I just don’t understand why here why now, but he obviously is on some kind of a European mission.
The only differences here are that there’s no other cat to fight with, and food is different.
I hope his pancreas is healing, and that’s the way it shows. You’re right, we’ve come so far, it makes me dizzy.

I haven’t had a full night sleep in 7 months now, please Macka just heal and let’s sleep!!

It can be scary when you start seeing lower numbers! They will become normal to you soon. :)

Thank you! How do you handle these low numbers at night and still be able to go to bed??? I am terrified of blinking an eye!

After enough time you get used to them and you can kind of see where they are going. It is very intimidating at first. My bedtime is usually after his approximate nadir but if he looks like he might slip a bit lower I will set an alarm to get up and check him.
