Let's gather together, sugars and civvies, for the Full Worm Moon!

Of course there will be traditional favorites as purrpared by my mentor, Chef Rusty, and the Kitchen Krews of yore at Worm Moons past:
Appetizers: Wormtinis; Hot Worm Toddies; New-Worm Old Fashioneds; Assorted Paw Prints Pizzas garnished with many varieties of Worms collected by Pizza Chefs Lola and Bug; Worm Rollups with Nip Dip; Sushi Bar specialties of Sushi Chef Tux and featuring worm-caught Hudson River fish in Chef Neko's fabulous Sushi Rolls.
Entrees: Night Crawlers a la King; Grilled Chicken with Red-Wiggler Marinade; Chef Mannie's Renowned Poached PNW Sockeye Salmon with Nip Mayo and Worm-casing Garnish; Chef Rusty's Thunderin' Bison Chili with Fresh Worm Salsa; Squirrel Kabobs; Wormburgers with The Works.
Salads: Central Park Sheep Meadow Greens à la Butthead & Donny with Worm and Vinegar dressing and Crunchy Worm-Casing Croutons; Confetti Slaw with Tiny Worms.
Desserts: Maggie's Signature New York Style Cheesecakes; Sweet-Worm Torte à la Chief Pastry Chef Tess; Tobey's Cimmamum Cookies with Worm Sprinkles; Surprise Dessert à la Dessert Chef Sootie; Chef Stu's World Famous Catmint Parfaits (without worms).
Newer traditions include Bubba's MouseMousse; Leo's Chunky Tuna and Salmon Ice Cream with Sardine Sprinkles; Chef Felix's Sweet and Savory Crunchy Crouton Toppers; Olive's Shoelaceghetti with a side of pickles; TinySolé's sister Cookie's cod brownies filled with catnip; PussCatDusty's crispy birds feet served on baked catnip wafers (mmmmm, crunchy!) as well as her sweet and sour skink tail vol-au-vents & freeze dried plain yoghurt balls; Chef Felix's Mediterranean platter with crunchy falafel, catmint mewli-tabouli, and smoked papurrika hummouse; Chieflet Luna's Longtail Surprise à la Rosa and Regan. You'll find Bella's Catinis at the Tiki Hut.

Taster Blankets are spread for kitties who are grieving and for kitties who are too unwell for dancing and feasting, but you can snuggle in a blankie and we hope we can coax you to have a taste. Let's all purr an extra healing purr for Taster Blanket Greeter Olive's co-cat Tux, who had to have emergency surgery today.

Chieflet Luna and all who will be working in the kitchen and at the blankies are busy getting things set up. I have to admit that the worm menu is not my favorite of the year, since even crunchy worms tend to have gooey centers. But I'm never worried about finding plenty of yummy, crunchy things to munch on at a moon party!

At midnight we gather in the Circle of Remembrance, when the veil thins between us and our beloved GAs at the Rainbow Bridge and we can purrceive them partying with us. It's magical.

Wooo-eee, Mav has his eye on those squirrel kabobs, he's always wondered what they taste like , he keeps seeing them in the yard.

Ti-Mousse is getting ready.... Of course he knew about the party... so he didn't eat much of those yeurky cans today!!! Sometimes he wears his sexy pants to go dancing, but tonight he feels more like wearing those stretchy ones after going through the menu ! Of course Peanut wants to follow.....! If Ti-Mousse takes him back home NOT TOO LATE, it's gonna be his first party.... !!

 

Ooh, sexy pants?! Go Ti...enjoy the pawty Peanut, just go easy on Chef Rusty's thunderin' bison chili....

 

This pawty is so much fun! The menu is awesome and we're figuring out ways of cooking the worms so they're less gummy in the middle with the feedback Roxi's getting from the Taster Blanket kitties to guide us. The kittens are dancing the night away to entertain everyone and making sure to catch us lots of fresh worms so we can keep the food coming with no delays As always, we're looking forward to seeing all the precious GAs, especially our very own Rosa and Regan at the circle or Remembrance and then dancing until morning before heading home for a nap! ~Luna

 

Tina left hours ago AFTER she got herself all dolled up! Late afternoon, I began reading the menu to her, and got lost in some of that nasty stuff ----- oh no, I mean delicious and tasty kitty morsels of delight -- then when I put the tablet down, she was prancing around in her pretty pink clothes and soon after, out the door, catching a limousine, and speeding away . . . was it the call of the worms?! I know she loves dancing with her friends at these parties Hey Felix!! I think she loves you darling!

 

My bean says the full moon shining on the ocean in the freezing air was awesome in the dark this morning. Should be even better tonight. Bring your blankets kitties.

Molly is going to pass on the party tonight. She has gone to bed for the night! Hopefully the next full moon party she’ll be there dancing to cat scratch fever!

 

Just got a text from my momma saying that everybody is making her laugh. I don't know why, since everyone seems purrfectly earnest to me (in a wild party-going sort of way).

Katie told me she had an awesome time at the party. The food was to die for, and she loved Chef Felix's apron. First thing she tried was her big sis's Maggie's New York Style Cheesecake. Thanks for such a great time and purrfect party. Beautiful Circle of Remembrance.

 

Yo, Civvie Gus here. I’m in New York City where I got sick and had to miss the great party. All you guys and gals sure had fun. I like worms. Next year!
