Good morning! Well I'm grateful that I have a hobby that I can continue to do while practicing social distancing! One day last week I went to five places......at the first four I saw absolutely no other photographers (and only occasionally did I see someone just out for a walk). At the fifth place.....well I could tell from the parking lot that there were lots of people there so I left. But....mother nature hasn't exactly been cooperating and we've had rain for the last four mornings, including today. And today is my birthday so I really really wanted to get out! Not going to happen. On the upside, yesterday afternoon was partially sunny and warm enough that DH and I were able to sit outside for a while and have "tea" (aka an adult beverage). First time this year! I'm starting to feel better from his horrible cold and sinus infection that I've had....I still have attacks of coughing usually at night so other than being tired I'm feeling ok! This weeks photos: A Deer with (what I call) a questioning look, a Muskrat swimming at The Coves, a Groundhog that was extremely cooperative and not bothered by me in the least (I was across the road from him), a Bufflehead found at a nearby pond, and a Black-Capped Chickadee posing in the Pinecones. As always, thank you for looking!
As always, soooo wonderful! I confess that my fave has to be that little groundhog! heehee But they're all truly magical. Thank you for sharing all this beauty!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JUDY!!!! We're also very grateful for your hobby!! Thank you for sharing your beautiful pictures! Love the groundhog, he's so cute!! It's good to hear you're feeling better, I hope you have a wonderful Birthday week!!!
Happy Birthday! I'm glad you are feeling better. I hope you get completely well soon. Great pictures.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JUDY!!! WISHING YOU A GREAT, HEALTHY, NEW YEAR AHEAD! We are having all that rain, too. The snow is mostly gone here except in the woods. Still not many birds around, although the spring birds are returning. I saw some Robins and Redwing Blackbirds the other day. I hope you can continue to get out to your birding spots. I so look forward to your photographs. Love this week's pictures, especially the groundhog. Keep on feeling better and enjoy your birthday.
Thanks Paula! No, I'm not doing portraits....I quit before covid 19......I was tired of competing against the photography graduates of the local school who were giving 100 images for $40 and then when I had to say goodbye to Boomer I knew that there would be lots of day trips that I would want to make this spring so I didn't want any commitments.
Thanks Ella! Even when I can't get out, at least I can watch the backyard birds! Cardinals, Blue Jays, House Sparrows, Chickadees, Nuthatches, and even a Carolina Wren! New additions include Robins, the occasional Grackle, and a couple of Starlings. Wish they would actually come around when I'm standing outside with my camera
Beautiful photos as usual. BOUNTIFUL BIRTHDAY BLESSINGS to you, Judy! The days just going to continue to warm up, leading to many more "teas" outside (I enjoy the same with my hubby).
Happyiest Birthday Judy! I hope you got some cake. Love the photos of the critters, as usual. You make me want to get out more. Saw my first rufous hummingbird today, and we still have the chickadee who likes to take a drink at the feeder too.
Happy Birthday Judy! Your photos are inspiring, so I decided to take a walk and my camera with me. What do you make of this bird??
Thanks Wendy! I put my hummingbird feeder/oriole feeder out this weekend. Last year I was late to the game and saw nothing
Hope your birthday was wonderful! Love the photos! Especially the muscat! @Judy and Freckles , great shot!
Happy Belated Birthday Judy! I'm glad to hear you're getting over that cold...well I hope that's what that means. Do you remember that I had a cold that started on Jan 21? I still have a residual cough from that! After all this time...only in the mornings...but it's there nonetheless... I wish I could take 'tea' on the lanai in the afternoons...but my boss has other ideas... Soon I hope... Loved your photos! As usual they're adorable...such beauty in nature!! And you capture it fabulously. I wish you were here with you big lense...we have a juvenile eagle sitting in a pine tree...he's all black...and doesn't fly yet...but he's HUGE! I cannot get a good pic...
Thank you so much for all the birthday wishes and comment on my photos!!! I'm feeling more human today. Yesterday was bad; I actually had the chills (which worried me as you can imagine). But that seems to be done and I actually had a reasonably good night's sleep for the first time in 2 weeks. And it's sunny out today, which helps my mood enormously!
Hope you had a Wonderful Birthday Love all your photos. I think the little bird is my favorite! Thank You!
