I think mittens needs a dose increase i emailed my vet but im not sure when she will get back to me shes been in the high 300s for a week or more. Thought she was bouncing but doesnt seem like it but shes outside A LOT now that its warm out. Last year she was on 3u x 2. I will not incase it that much at a time tho, i did increase her to 1. Ill keep for 3 or 4 days then do another curve.

Or is my insulin bad? It doesn't have bubbles or anything like that. Our fridge is broken it was out for maybe 2 days im not really sure it was still cold tho and i put it in ice soon as i knew. I do have a small fridge now to keep it in.

Thanks guys i can do curves tues, weds and thurs now that im not volunteering or working as much.

I agree with going back to 1 unit like you used previously (Mar 2020). You got very good BGs/curve in Mar 0n 1 unit. Has anything changed in the household that can explain why it seems that B insulin need is increasing (even on the 1 unit last evening and this morning)?
Not infrequently insulin needs change (up and down) for no external reason).

Kathy, when you say you put the insulin "on ice" was that directly on ice? Or protected from the freezing temperatures? Prozinc should never be frozen. It destroys the structure of the molecules.
It it froze and then thawed, it's probably no good.

Since Middie dropped to a 68 on 3/28/20, dropping the dose by 0.25U was the right move.
But Middie has been much higher now for more than a week.

@Larry and Kitties I say that because of the curve im doing today even on 1u she hasnt gone below 200 1 time today. And yes shes outside way more now that the weather is nice. She loves outside! I cant keep her she would be so stressed and upset.

@Deb & Wink I have it in a pill bottle in a Tupperware dish so yes it would of been sitting on ice because i had no other way of keeping it cold. I have 2 viles that i was keeping the same way but i do not have the funds right now to get her another one to test the theroy.

I do think that the 28th was the day that the fridge died. I did get one of the little portable fridges because i cant be with out a fridge. And our fridge still isnt fixed! Ugh.

Kathy, the insulin may still be ok, if it did not freeze. If it was not sitting directly on the ice, or it may have been protected by the Tupperware container and being inside the pill bottle may have protected it enough.

If the Prozinc was un-refrigerated for a couple of days, it should still be ok.

Look at the vials. Look for any large floating particles. Look to see if the Prozinc is the same pale skim milky color as always, like the "color of fog" someone described it.

Are you able to monitor more the next few days?
You might want to try a 1.25U dose.
But see what tonight brings, as far as BG levels go.

Kathy, you have to use your best judgement in the dosing right now, and when to raise and lower it.
You know your schedule so much better than we ever will.

I'd give the 1U dose at least 6 cycles (3 days) to see what it is doing.
You've only been at the 1U dose for 2 cycles right now.
Middie may be in the middle of a bounce right now.
    Impossible to tell.
