Finally u/s day is here. Will be leaving +3.5 and not home til about +7. Will try to get lysine while they are doing it.

It's going to be another hot, humid day.

Good luck with the ultrasound! Sending vetty vines!

also thanks for your advice for our camping / future camping trips! The enclosure was really nice to have, I could see us getting a lot of use out of it on the future :)

Ollie had kidney bladder urethra u/s today, because of blood in urine that had increased, 2 uti since January and just recently just blood coming out. Due to timing issues it was finally done today.

Results: bladder, kidneys, urethra normal except R kidney has some mineralization. No infections.

The other abdominal mass near kidney I asked about. Dr said she doesn't think it's a mass. She didn't see a globe or ball image. She does believes it's the pancreas and it's very angry, and diseased. And Ollie did not like her left side touched at all (which I know). She doesn't like her insulin shots in the side at all.

The biggie is blood pressure 210-220. Whoa. So we have to get that down. Ollie already on benazepril 1/4 tab q12 hrs for hcm. So plan is to increase tonight to 1/2 tab q12. After 1 week start amlodipine 1.25mg daily. She wants Ollie to get use to more benazepril before adding amlodipine so it doesn't hit all at once. Recheck in 2-4 weeks after starting. Dr says it's why Ollie is sluggish and not feeling good.

I asked about weepy eye. She believes it's allergy. Bought up Zyrtec, she said she couldn't advise it for Ollie, it's contraindicated if there is heart disease and high blood pressure. She did say I could use Blink eye drops, which I do have.

Found the Wal-Mart nearby. The only lysine they had was 500 ct bottle. I didn't want that much since other is coming this week. But tomorrow since I will be going out I will look for smaller bottle.

Im relieved that it sounds like you have a strong path forward to get Ollie back to normal. I am so glad to hear that no mass was observed. Her poor pancreas though.

fingers crossed the BP meds work quickly!!

Good to hear the report wasn’t too bad. You might want to think about getting a second blood pressure to verify. High blood pressure is common with acros. Neko’s first BP attempt (Vet late due to emergency, barky dogs in waiting room, novice tech) was 220 +, second attempt 180+ (puppy jumped carrier), third attempt in a room with Feliway, 142. After that I always sprayed her carrier with Feliway and gave Rescue Remedy if we were going for a BP check and it was mostly in the 140’s.

I'm glad there were some good results. I hope you can get her blood pressure regulated and help her feel better. Sending prayers.

On different days? Dr said they took it 3 times. Since I couldn't go in, I don't know the circumstances. supposedly this appointment was scheduled during "quiet" time to avoid stress.

They usually do multiple tests each time, and do an average. If it was a quiet appointment, you could be OK. Neko never increased her BG during vet visits, but did her BP. You could just call and ask if things were quiet leading up to the test. Over 200 is above "white coat syndrome" levels, I just have a cat who proved contrary.

I tested BG as soon as we got home and it was the 116, lower than test when we left. Smokey was the same. Vet visits didn't raise BG. Ollie's bp was taken before u/s also.

Not to upset over PMPS. She's had a busy day and just wants to eat since getting home. I also gave her some duck food which is low high end carb. Thought she deserved just wee bit of spoiling.

Husband came home from NJ, said it was 100 there. Here was 81. He has to go back Wednesday to have tooth pulled. Once infection is gone they will decide on implant or not.
