Freckles is doing well. She is sliding down the dosing scale and her numbers are pretty stable. There's been a a couple of tests that I had to wipe the sleep from my eyes and do a second test, but so far she's staying away from super low numbers. The help that I received from the members on this forum have been ABSOLUTELY key in keeping Freckles safe and me learning more about FD. I can't thank everyone enough for their continued support and guidance. This forum is a blessing, that's for sure.

It's been almost 1 year since her diabetic Dx so I'm thinking the insulin resistance is starting to wane a bit. Harvest is in full swing here, so between combining, baling and work, it's a very busy time. Of course this Covid-19 stuff is interfering with the way I use to do things at work, so everything is taking longer and I don't have as much free time as before. Once things slow down on the farm, I hope to frequent this site more often.

It looks like Freckles is due for a dose increase. You have been doing a great job keeping Freckles in good numbers! I hope life slows down for you soon.

Hi Judy - haying season is tiring! Nice to see Freckles down into the range of 0.25 unit changes again.

Thanks Sienne. I'm going to do a curve on the weekend as my tests aren't as frequent as they have been in the past (hubby is out in the field all day). I have a feeling I may be missing some low numbers throughout the course of the day so am hesitant to increase without really knowing.

    Hi Wendy!
Yes, busy for sure. Besides all of the farming and work stuff, I am also dealing with one of my horses who is Insulin Resistant as well. Who would have thought that my cat and my horse would both be IR! Another whole learning curve but I have been very fortunate in finding another online forum which works very similar to this one with very knowledgeable people about IR and PPID (Cushings for horses). I'm also getting prepared incase my horse will have Winter Laminitis (nerves in the hoof have been compromised and very cold weather makes them lame because of the nerve damage). So trying to plan to keep a horse comfortable in -40 degree weather poses a few challenges! lol
