This morning Mikey’s AMPS was 41. I only took it once- my error
I gave him a FF carb gravy, no insulin and it was up to 287 in 20 minutes
That is fast. Do you think the 41 was an incorrect reading. Should I give him insulin next time, and I know I should lower his dose
That rapid incline in 20 minutes seems odd

My rule of thumb is that if you get a reading that seems out of whack, repeat the test.

Mikey had a sizable drop from his PMPS to +4 so it's possible that numbers kept dropping. It is a pretty rapid rise from your AMPS to your next test. However, the jump up may depend on how much gravy you gave your cat.
