    Condo HERE

It's been a few days. No major changes. Mochi didn't eat much yesterday after his AM feed, so his number was predictably lower this morning. He scarfed down all of his AM food today to make up for it.

Tomorrow will be one week at 1.25

Mochi is at 93, +2 PM. He's nibbled at his food a bit. Staying up 'till I know which way he's going....

+2.5 and he's at 77. Looks like we're having a pajama party tonight.

Since he's under 90, I drop him back down to 1 unit tomorrow morning - right?

Yes, with SLGS he has earned a reduction back to 1U with that drop below 90 tonight. However, if you can test enough, you might want to follow TR and hold the dose.
That will help him stay at a dose at which he spends more time in normal numbers (50-100 mg/dl on a human meter) .

Still going down. Going to try to get him to eat some more.

I'm home most of the time and can test.

I would suggest you try TR then. TR is a more aggressive protocol with increases as often as every 3-5 days. Reductions are earned when the BG falls below 50 mg/dl (on a human meter). The aim is to keep the cat in the range of 50-100 which is the pancreas healing zone. To follow TR, you would need to get at least one more test per cycle in addition to the pre-shot one i.e. 2 tests per cycle or 4 tests per day. You would also need to be feeding only LC canned food and no dry food.

Try and avoid kibble. Do you not have higher carb wet food?
He has earned a reduction with TR also, so you go down to 1U tomorrow.

2 tests in the PM cycle isn't doable for me.

I do not have MC/HC wet food. The kibble is what I already had so I'm using it. It's limited ingredient, grain free, and high protein. I'm having trouble finding med/high carb wet food that doesn't contain chicken.

That's one test with the shot and 1 before bed. If you cannot manage that you can continue with SLGS, no problem.

Ah, I thought you meant bedsides the pre-shot test. Honestly, the +2 is a struggle because that is usually after I'm in bed. Would a +1 be helpful at all? Because that would be easier for me to do.

Do you have the option to shoot earlier so that you can get a +2 before going to bed? A +2 is usually a good indicator of how the cycle is going to play out.
I have to warn you that TR can involve multiple tests in the PM cycle like tonight.

I shoot shortly after waking up, so not really. That's why I went with SLGS. Nights like tonight need to be rare.

Then SLGS might be the protocol for you! :)

    I think so, yes. :)

+5.5 68 without any more food.

I think it's safe to go to bed now. My night owl will continue to keep an eye on him for a bit yet.

    Thank you!
