Morning all.

Couldn't get back to sleep this morning so thought I'd post lm shenanigans from last night.

DH finally experienced a low enough to scare him. Pmps was only 64. Dh decided on his own it was out of his depth and skipped his shot since I was at work. He said with all the trouble with test strips he has had lately he felt scared in case he couldn't get him tested.

I think we've been working with a not so good bottle. Several of them will not suck up the blood. Even I've gone through quite a few. Bottle is nearly used up at least.

He did remember to test it twice and he got a 65 on second test.

I did tell him that insulin doesn't work like he is thinking. That generally if he starts lower he just stays more flat. He understood but just still felt nervous having that much control and being in charge by himself. He said he still tried to get a +2 test but went through 5 strips all of which wouldn't suck up blood and lm was getting super frustrated so he had to let it go. He ended up keeping him in bedroom with him to keep an eye on him till I got home since he couldn't get a test. I found it cute and funny as without insulin the odds of him going too low were well almost nonexistent. I ended up testing at what would have been +4 and +6 and he held his own. I'm impressed by how far he has come and I owe that to all of you!

Thanks FDMB family for the love and support and all the education I've received here. It's helped me not only with my own baby but a friend at work had a diabetic kitty now..

Much ❤️!

So he is definitely being active early. His onset is usually never this early. I will say I'm thankful he is vocal. He starts talking and sits on the testing couch. He clearly knows his body LOL

Thanks Diane so good to 'see you roaming the boards today! :bighug::bighug:
Keeps me busy and my mind off things for awhile
I'm hanging hang I hanging in there .
The other morning I was sitting on my front steps and a beautiful cardinal flew right past me , I hope it was Ashley letting me know it was her and was happy and was with my mom .
The nights are the worst, so I go hang out at my sisters for awhile
Tyler keeps going in her room and meowing , I pick him up and tell him it's ok
Will keep in touch :bighug::bighug:

I've actually thought that yesterday after his low pmps. I could try it in the morning.

Ok so it would be .25? Which is 1.2 times .25 to get the measurement on calipers correct?

Yes. Also see if you can add a snack at +8/+9 in both cycles - that might help bring down his preshots. Or are you already giving him those?

Which brand of syringe? If the 1U = 1.2 mm then 0.25U would be 1.2 X 0.25 = 0.3. I'm assuming your callipers are set at 0.6 now?

Yes he already is getting a +9 today he was 131 at +9 but came down to 87 at pmps so it definitely makes a big big difference...the one time he missed his +9 he was 151:eek: at preshot!

Yes calipers set at .6 right now. Using carepoint syringes. So .3 it is! Yikes getting so hard to see already LOL

I wonder why he shoots up to blue post +6. When is the last meal he gets in the first part of the cycle?
+2 is his last meal or snack...only time he has had anything after that is if he was running lower and I had to leave.

I'm still convinced me being gone so much causes some of that...I think he gets stressed out. He lays on my work clothes when I put them out. Then when I go to put on shoes he lays all over my feet and vmbites the shoe laces.

Try adding another snack at +5 and see if that helps? Food seems to bring down his numbers. We've seen some cats' numbers go higher if there is a long gap between meals.

How big of a snack...a tsp may not be enough to actually bring him down. I can give a snack now it's +5.5 just checked him he is 72 so nice and steady

Usually a tsp of food is enough to influence numbers. How much do you give him at +9? Do you use an autofeeder?
He gets about a tablespoon...yes he uses a feeder...so he gets his snack whether I'm awake or home.

I only use the tsp for his +2 snack. He stopped eating the +1 snack quite awhile ago. So I stopped giving it. Unless he is lower and needs the boost then it's a slightly higher carb
