RIP Saima 1998-2011

I can't believe I'm typing this, but we put my precious baby to sleep tonight. She was breathing strangely and still wouldn't eat today, so we took her to the vet. x-ray showed advanced heart disease and vet basically said there was nothing to be done. We are devastated. I honestly thought we would get a handle on the diabetes and she'd be herself again. She lived with us her whole life and I have always dreaded this day, but hoped it would be long from now. I have no idea how we will get by without her. I hate that I could not fix this. she deserved so much more.

oh jennifer, i'm so very sorry. so sorry. your little sweetheart was blessed to have a wonderful life with you. even just in the past few days i could tell you were devoted to her. she couldn't have had a better life.

Jennifer - I am so sorry to read this. We had just gotten to know you and your girl. I am at a loss for words. I know how devastated you must feel, how it is when you want something so badly, and not be able to fix it, or make it happen. You are a very caring devoted bean. I hope that the memories will soon replace the sense of loss, sorrow, grief. You gave her the greatest gift possible. She is now free of illness, able to be herself again. I have no doubt that she is watching over you, always will be.

I'm so sorry for your loss!!! Your girl knew how much you loved her. You made such a hard decision, but you did it for her. She"ll always be with you.

 

I am so, so sorry for your loss. We grieve the loss of one of our own tonight, even if she was only with us for a short time. Even as it breaks our hearts, that last thing we do to stop their suffering truly is our last gift to them. I know that pain as well.

It breaks my heart to read posts like this one....
know that i will keep you in my thoughts and prayers as you deal with your tremendous loss of Saima....you provided a loving safe home and the ultimate gift of love you showed her was to release her from her pain....i know these words may not mean much right now....but i do hope in time you are able to look back and be at peace that you did the right thing...out of LOVE for SAIMA.....

I am so sorry to be reading about another one of our own FD kitties going to the bridge. Her suffering is over, but yours is just beginning. I hope that her memories and the knowledge that you did so much for her will bring you comfort. She was lucky to have found you - I'm sure she knew that and that she feels your love, even now...

 

As I sit here with tears streaming down- almost unable to type, I want to send you and your DH the best possible wishes. You both will be in my thoughts today. Always remember, what you did for her was the most loving thing you could have done ... ending her pain. The pain that you are left with is full on physical proof of how much you loved ( and will continue to ) love her. I just wanted to let you know that there are people like me, who understand and sympathize greatly with you for your loss.
