We had our AC talk with both kitties and she sent us a report last night. I'll put it up later, but in general, Zener has good days and bad and is more stoic about all the fuss this time than before. He is being a good boy with all his treatment, but gets tired of it. He loves us very much and spending time loving him is the best of all. We are going to try to relax more and follow his directions "pet more, worry less".

Thanks to all who came by to visit last night. Though it looked like PJ party potential, one did not materialize and I fell asleep on the floor cuddled up with Zener and didn't get back to update his condo.

    10/27/12 Zener
    AMPS, 349, 21st cycle @1.0u, 2/3PP, 1/8 zantac, 1mg ondansetron, 1/16t miralax, 1.45oz 12%
    +2 308, 0.85oz 12%, 7 drops kidney liquid
    +3 0.4oz 13%
    +4 212, 1PP, 3mg Zobaline, 0.3oz 13%
    +5.5 181, 0.55oz 13%

@Sienne - no PJ party after all. Good thing too, since the night duty bean fell asleep on duty!

@Ella - Zener often has this sliding pattern with what looks like only one nadir a day. He loves to do his "bidness" outdoors and during the winter when we have have shoveled paths in the snow, he will find the one spot with a melt through to the dirt and leave a deposit there. Hope you are all ready for the big storm.

@rhiannon - the blue grotto was his place of choice last night, and then ugh to a stinky pinky sunrise!

@Roni - yep, got some sleep all right, on the floor under a fleece blanket curled up with Mr Z. Hope you are all ready for the Frankenstorm!

Nothing much else to report this morning, other than the usual Zener slide. Hope everyone has a good Caturday! :D

Hi Liz, Anne, Tillie & Zener,

It's been a while, but don't worry...Shasta and I are here to say HELLO! ((hugs)) to Zener-man! Shasta sends a small puddle of drool for her boy! (currently, the drool is on my sweatpants, but I'm sure she'll have more soon!) I like the 'pet more, worry less' as each day is a blessing with our little furballs!

    Happy Caturday!!!

Hi Liz and Anne - Looks like a great Zener slide to me! Go Z-man! greens are next. Just not too low today OK?

Very nice on the AC. One of these days I will have to do that. I really would like to get a grip on how Mannie fees about all that affects his life. it's hard to do the "pet more, worry less" thing, isn't it. It is for me, for sure.

Have a great afternoon today. Rains here. I hope you are fairing better.

Hi Anne and Liz, very interesting on the AC and Zener. That's great she sends you a report, and I will be interested in reading it. I've consulted an AC a few times in the past and am always amazed, and it has always been helpful. That sure sounds like a good plan with Zener and following his lead. That's a nice way to fall asleep cuddling with Zener. I missed the almost pj party as I fell asleep watching the news. very early!
Thanks Inspector Poo and Inspector Crapdash for stopping by and catching the update on the two dayer prezzie. Maggie is happy to have Zener's skunk friend sty an extra day in SD.

Nice slide into blue today. Pet more, worry less sounds like great advice we should all take.

I'm glad Zener didn't stay with that pink sunrise for long.
Work that juice, Zener. You can be blue-r.

Another classic Zener slide into PMPS, and thankfully a slow one.

    10/27/12 Zener

    +3 0.4oz 13%
    +4 212, 1PP, 3mg Zobaline, 0.3oz 13%
    +5.5 181, 0.55oz 13%
    +8.5 0.45oz 13%

    PMPS 135, 22nd cycle @1.0u, 1PP, 1/8 zantac, 1mg ondansetron, 1/16t miralax, 1.65oz 12%

@Deborah & Shasta - so great to "see" you in Zener's condo, LOVE the snuggles picture! Zener is a drooler too, so Shasta drool is not a problem. ;-)

@Michelle & Mannie - yep, another classic Zener slide and not too low as instructed. Perhaps we will see some green tonight, but one never knows! You are so right about it being hard to the "pet more, worry less" thing. The worry less is definitely a challenge for us too! We would love some of your rain, maybe we can trade some liquid sunshine for the genuine sunshine.

@Ann & Tess - our new LL mantra - pet more, worry less!

@Ann & Maggie - our AC is right on target so much of the time with our kitties. We knew she was connecting with them last night and they always seem so relaxed and satisfied after a check-in. I hope you were in a more comfortable spot when you fell asleep last night, the floor sure is a lot harder than it used to be.

@carla - a slow easy slide into blue, so unlike Zener.

@rhiannon - we are grateful when he is stinky pinky at sunrise, it doesn't seem to last cycle on cycle like it used to. And, he went to blue, as instructed!

Here is the email report we received from our AC after check-in last night. The medicine Tillie is referring to is the Cosequin, she has been on it for three weeks.
I recevied communication from both cats tonight.
First, Queen Tillie - yes, her appetite is better. She denies any big problems other than being achey and out of sorts some days. The pain meds are helping alot. The other thing that would help her is acupuncture. However, she is less than thrilled about needing to travel to see the doctor. The light treatments didnt last long. Acupuncture was a more positive match for her. I communicated several times about how good and healing the energy would be for her. I would not try to transport her at this time. She is thinking about it. And she is satisfied with the medicine helping at this time.
There is another item that would help Tillie feel better. Some type of radiant heat bed/blanket for her to sleep on when she feels like it. Possibly some kind of space blanket technology in cat beds? Or even a heating pad? She seems to need some increase in heat production to make her joints feel better since winter is nearly here.
Tillie does forgive Ann even though it doesnt seem like it! She is just expressing her Queenly self )

Zener is very stoic this time. He seems bothered by all the fuss these days with his medical issues. He tells me that some days are good and he feels energetic. Other days are just blah and he feels flat and tired. He is still trying to be a good cooperative boy for all the procedures. But some days he gets fed up with it all. I sense congestion in his liver. No nausea or vomiting. I feel like his system is not being very efficient with the diabetes affecting the balance so much. Zener just feels more off balance right now. I do not sense that he needs anything different. Other than just love and attention which he adores from both of you )

Both cats are aware of Ann leaving for a length of time. I did let them know it would be a month. Just picture a full moon cycle in your head to communicate that length of time to them. Please add Rescue Remedy to the water for the first week in order to keep the "family" energy calmer for them. Having either one of you gone disrupts their patterns. They understand and accept that humans do that....but the RR would really help.

We have the pet version of rescue remedy on order and will be here before I leave. And, we also ordered an semi-enclosed heated bed for the QOE. We have three heating pads placed in strategic locations around the house, but evidently, this is not completely acceptable for the Queen. It troubled us that our big guy seems bothered by all the fuss so our take away message is to decrease our testing, within safe limits, and to go to an every other day or 2-3 times per week teeth routine. We also are trying to not pursue him so much with fuds, unless he needs to eat for safety. We realize with his BG levels so much better, he just may not need to eat as much and still maintain his weight. Will keep you all posted on how things progress!

Have a great Caturday night! cat_pet_icon

Wow Anne and Liz, the AC is amazing with being right on target with both Zener and Tillie. Very interesting that they both sense you will be gone for a time. And she mentioned Tillie was on a new med for her arthritis which she called the pain med. Neat with the Rescue Remedy, too, and heating pads. It sounds like she was definitely in tune with both Zener and Tillie. Amazing!

Great report from the AC. Glad to know that both of your furry babies are feeling fine just not happy with any disruption in their daily normal schedule. I believe cats are very sensitive to small changes in their routine, other than the need to have constant change in the flavor of their food. They love to be left alone. They need our love & attention according to their schedule. This is difficult since we love them so much. A small hic-cup will start our "alarm system" & make a big fuss on it... Sometimes when I see a little thing with my cats, I'll give them another day to see how they progress before going to the vet. Having 20 cats for over 15 yrs gave me lots of experience dealing with them & our "honourable" vet.

@Sienne - you are psychic, it's a PJ party!

@Ann & Maggie - the AC we use lived here for several years and met our kitties in person. She is amazing! :D

@Helen - you are so right about our alarm system! Chanting mantra now - pet more, worry less!

@Ella - glad you enjoyed the report. Looks like it's going to be a late rest of the evening. ;-)

@Roni - you would think the kitties are used to my travels and absences, but they don't have to like it! Our AC told us before that Tillie does not like it when her family is not all together. And Zener is okay, as long as we remember to tell him good night every night when we are away. cat_pet_icon

Hey's LL kitties who are still awake. Come to my house, we're having a PJ party! - Zener

Well, we have an 88 at+5.5 so the PJ party may be winding down.

@Helen - thanks for bringing Rosy to the party!

@Teresa & Poopy - thanks for stopping by too!

I'm not exactly sure what happened today, but somehow our first post of Zener's condo was duplicated. I tried to delete the duplication but no luck. Strange, any ideas on why this would happen and how to delete a duplicate post. I sure don't want to clutter things up with two condos going for the same day!
