Yesterday, Butters began an attempt at a reduction in the PM cycle, to .5u.

This morning, I accidentally didn't inject all of the insulin into her:facepalm:. I have a very regimented routine:
  1. measure dose with calipers
  2. recheck dose at least fifteen times to ensure accuracy
  3. shoot
  4. hold plunger down for several seconds (one Mississippi etc.)
  5. put nose into butters and sniff for insulin
  6. hold syringe up to eye and push plunger to make sure there isn't anything leftover
So I'm not quite sure how it happened, but when I pushed the plunger to check that the syringe was empty, a line of insulin came squirting out and went directly into my eye:blackeye:. Poor Butters didn't get all of her insulin, and I sustained a temporary eye injury (FYI it felt like burning).

She had a beautiful PM+11 yesterday, too. Bummer. Hopefully she will get back on track soon.

Sorry about your eye...I actually started to wonder this morning if you should take your own glucose and see if you absorbed any insulin (and then treat yourself to an ice cream:p).

Butters will be back on track in no time though she's having a pretty good day :D

Sorry about your eye, I guess that tells you Lantus indeed has an acid base.

I mean, I don't have an eyewash station at home (maybe I should get one???), but I stood over the sink and did my best to flush it for about ten minutes afterwards. The hazmat training I had to take fifteen years ago came rushing right back to me. My eye was teary for a while but it's okay, really. Thanks for the concern:bighug:.
I didn't check my BG because I was too distracted by the sting, but of course I used the incident as an excuse to eat some of the dairy-free roasted pineapple and corn ice cream that I'd bought for a future pj party that has not happened to-date:joyful::joyful::joyful:.
 
I’m sorry your eye hurt so much! But that ice cream flavor sounds like it would make up for all of it. What’s the brand?

Oops, I just realized it's gelato not ice cream. Lol! It's kinda all the same to me. They use coconut milk instead of dairy milk and all of their flavours still taste awesome. The pineapple and corn one is out of this world.

Hi Lyla , Hope your eye is ok, good luck with the reduction. Even with the fur shoot, Butters is still looking good. I hope she surfs safely tonight and you can get some sleep ♥:bighug::bighug::bighug: I just looked up all of the other flavors , they sound delicious
