Good morning, happy Caturday!
I work today so am thinking maybe tonight or tomorrow morning I'll raise her to the "old" 3.75, which was measured a bit too much for a 3.75, and see how she does on that smidge extra before bumping her to 4, which is completely new and unknown territory. I remember the internal medicine vet had said to not be surprised if she ends up on 4 units since she is a bigger cat, as that can be considered normal for a cat her size. It's also not surprising that her numbers are higher since she's eating dry only now, but her poops are great and her energy and demeanor just seem better overall, so I'll just have to work with it. If that means she gets more insulin, then she gets more insulin. It's not an ideal world so we do the best we can with what we have!
I've also decided against getting an auto feeder because I've been seeing more and more reports of them not always being reliable and opening like they should, and to me that's terrifying when you have a diabetic.
No thank you. I may just have to work on tweaking the portion sizes that are always available and continue to try getting her moving about more. More playtime!
