Yesterday

This morning I shaved Butters's dose to .625u after she juuuust squeaked in under 100 for her AMPS.

We just got our form today...due by May 11th (as required by law haha. I wonder what the punishment is? )

A $500 fine. Lol. I wonder if they've ever actually fined anyone? I bet not.

Good luck with the long form...I hope it saves your data before it crashes each time, so at least you can pick up where you've left off.

It has a "Save and Continue Later" button but I couldn't get it to work. I had to redo the entire thing this morning because it did not save my answers last night after all of my hard work entering them.

Aww, Butters has the lion cut! I love that look. Her head must look huge!

Lol! Sometimes it looks like she is wearing a large furry helmet, which is hilarious. This time her fur was more thinned out, so it's not quite as huge looking. I also insist on a poof at the end of her tail, and leg warmers.

Soooo much funnier side by side. And of course you had to know this was coming... From a quarantine humour perspective, I thought the shorn Butters looked so much more spry and happy than the unshorn Butters, so I reversed the images.

Lucky!! Filling out that long form was pretty painful.

I like her furry.

I love her furry sooo much. Her fur is glorious. Thick, soft and I just want to snuggle her all of the time.
I do it in warm weather, otherwise she becomes miserable, overheated and barely moves and I feel sorry for her. She just lays on the ground on a vent when I have the a/c on....like so:

I was going to ask why you shaved her until I read that it is getting really hot where you live. She is beautiful - either way and what a big fluff ball when she is not shaved.

How hot? Seriously? I live in Georgia (not that hot yet). How hot can it be in Canada?

ETA: I just checked and it's 53 degrees in Ontario! I'm thinking of putting a sweater on! I wish I were there. We had 70s (farhenheit) today.

But, of course, I do want dear Butters to be comfortable. She's a Canadian cat and she likes to be cool! I love that. And she does have the most thick, luxurious coat! She is beautiful. Love that photo of her lying on the A/C register. Cool cat!

And she looks to pretty either way!

It gets hot here but I’ve never shaved any of mine. I know the fur keeps dogs cool in summer and warm in winter but don’t know if that’s true for cats.

Oh I just want to keep looking at that shorn picture. She is so giving you death-ray eyes! It looks like someone photoshopped her head on the skinny little body! The lion tail is magnificent. Minnie came out of the hospital with the skinny neck and leg warmers, though it's grown out now. I actually think the before/after pictures could be a weight loss ad!

I had never shaved mine before. They never minded summer. I just know that Butters acted so miserable once it got warmer; she wasn't even grooming herself properly. So after the vet said there was nothing wrong with her, I decided to try the lion cut. My neighbour who I got her from totally freaked out when she saw what I did. I think she wanted to take her back. But Butters is much happier and more active without the fur so I do it for the warm weather.

I admit I may have gotten her shave a little too early, but it was more in preparation for actual summer. We can get temperatures of 80-90 degrees most days where I am, before factoring in the humidity. I don't like having the a/c on, so now at least I don't have to fight butters over whether it should be on or off.

Oh I just want to keep looking at that shorn picture. She is so giving you death-ray eyes!

I'm glad the pics gave you a laugh. To be fair, I think the death stare is her resting face look. Either that or I must annoy her an awful lot because she is always staring at me like that!

Oh... the census form. I don't like the intrusive questions. I give the basic info.... that's it. When we filled out our 2020 census forms that was it. Nobody came to get us!

They won't really come and get us, either. But it was online and it won't let you move to the next question until you answer the current one. So in the end my dutiful Canadian self answered every single question. The final question was them requesting feedback on the census, so in true passive-aggressive fashion, I kept writing all of my feelings and constructive thoughts until I hit the maximum number of characters allowed. It somehow made me feel better about the whole thing.

I can sooooo relate! I thought when I first saw her 'before' pic - Ewes not fat, ewes fluffy! She's just a wisp of a thing now isn't she? So ADORABLE! I like both pics...I hope she enjoys the cooler slimmed down version for Summer! Wish it was that easy for the rest of us! LOL!

Oh she looks so tiny but love the tail. What have I missed, why was she shaved (the fur not the dose )? I must have slept through this coming event for Butters. Is she okay? Alright, I went through the posts this is her summer wear. Her stare is pretty intense . She is always beautiful Butters.
