05-11-24 Dude, help - one more BG test before PMPS?

Hi, newly diagnosed & looking to get a full day's glucose reading. Using Lantus. Do I need two more tests or one? I'm slated to give his insulin at ≈ 11:00 pm EDT. I took his last reading at 6:00 pm EDT. I'm scheduled to feed him at 7:30 pm EDT & again at 11:30 pm EDT (syringe feeding on a pretty strict schedule to maintain weight).

You are probably fine waiting until PMPS. He wasn't dropping fast from +2.5 to +7. And it sounds like you are feeding at +8, which should bring him up more. Actually, feeding carbs after nadir is not great as it'll shorten the insulin duration.

Carbs on this FF are listed at 1.7%, is that enough to change it? The PMPS was 143, it continued down through two feedings.
 
That's fairly low carbs. See how it goes. I expect you are looking for foods with higher fat content, so he'll put on some weight.
