Good Morning

Sending healing prayers to all the kitty cats and their caretakers that are not feeling their best

Dolly over being poked (again). Would not let me near her last night. I think the issue is more the pain meds. Dolly hates anything put in her mouth so always a battle and ends up where I feel like I assaulted her. I hold her close to me after for about 5 minutes so she can calm down. I've been trying to patiently wait for her to jump on the table for testing rather than pick her up. Last night I went to bed at one am but never got a test past +2 (9pm). No trust, no test, no pain meds. She actually acted afraid of me, happens on occasion. Unfortunately we've been here before, this is the nature of my sweet Dolly.

I am not looking for advice, I've had 8 years to try everything to make Dolly feel safe. I believe most of the time she does. I'm not sure what the catalyst is, it could be the affects of the pain meds or the pain or I looked at her funny.

I am just venting, scary to go to bed with just a +2 but thankfully she ate another bowl of food later on. I did not get my very much needed rest, too upset.

Afternoon Adrienne, holy cow look at all those perches, I love them
Ruby numbers are looking good.
Don't beat yourself up about not getting another test last night, I know you must have been scared but at least she ate another bowl of food.
The more we go after them the more they run from us
Tyler is giving me big problems with giving him the antibiotic pills.
He fights me like crazy, tried to crush it up and put it in his food but no good, it must have a taste to it.
He twists his body all around when I'm trying to pill him
And boy is he strong.
Have to give it every 8 hours didn't mean to hit the coffee emoji
He hears me getting the pills out of the bottle and runs, so I have to be really quiet
You know that Dolly loves you like crazy! so don't feel bad if she acts afraid of you ok

They have peanut butter, marshmallow, chicken etc. I always pick chicken but trust me it is bitter nasty. I can’t pill Dolly even when I tried putting it in little capsules, she spits it out. It’s a nightmare. Her pain meds are in syringes and it’s the tiniest amount. I wish we could give shots for everything, well my husband could give shots.

Maybe I was looking at the wrong day. Please apologize to sweet Ruby-doo for me. Tell her we love her no matter what her numbers are. I hope she doesn’t have a UTI but it sounds like she does. That will definitely raise her numbers. I’m not qualified to respond to raising her numbers. Sending healing hugs

Don't worry about it, Adrienne! I'm not upset about her numbers anymore because it's totally beyond my control. I'll celebrate the green we get here or there but loose regulation, below renal threshold as much as possible, is about all I can hope for these days.

I have/have had cats like that who sometimes act like they are afraid of me. It hurts my feelings because I feel like we have gotten to a trust relationship and have bonded and are friends and then….. what? Who are you? You’d think I was a monster or something. But usually they get over it. I usually have no idea why it starts or why it stops.

I love perch town. Where do you buy the oat grass? Is it easy to grow? And it doesn’t make her throw up green grass bits?

I get it from Amazon. So easy to grow. I was getting it from the market, wheat grass, until a few weeks ago and it came home with lots of gnats .

Dolly loves it and never vomits anything. Thank goodness and maybe because of the grass, been buying it for many years, she doesn’t vomit or have diarrhea. Not even hairballs and she sheds like crazy. I grow it every week and it takes about 4-5 days from start to full size like in the photo of Dolly. Hugs

Thanks Suzanne, I needed to hear that it isn’t just me. It makes me feel so bad for both of us. She is still giving me the . My old vet told me to just ignore her when she gets like this. That’s what I have been doing but I miss my girl and just hate it This too shall pass Hope you are okay. I have this bad habit of taking on what I imagine are everyone’s sadness or whatever is going on. This gives me lots of time to worry, my job in life. It’s annoying. Sending you big hugs and so grateful you are here. You help me get perspective.

Hopefully you are asleep Katherine. I don’t know how I repeated myself but I look a bit like a nut case , which might be the case for today. Have a good start to week 2 tomorrow. Hope the girls are all smiles as you walk out the door. Hope if it’s a UTI it will improve overnight, some wishful thinking. Take care all of you.
