Umn not sure what you thought I was asking .... but I was asking if I should stall without food and re-test before deciding to skip or not
I have been in this situation before and was taught that with data, you should, in fact, give him 20 mins without feeding and retest as long as you can stall. If he’s not coming up, feed a two of LC and retest 30 mins later. If he’s above 50, shoot 0.1u as long as you can monitor.Umn not sure what you thought I was asking .... but I was asking if I should stall without food and re-test before deciding to skip or not
It’s been almost 30 mins so retest now. Let’s see where he is.I am currently stocked, how often do I need to test? Every 30 minutes?
If you haven’t fed in the last two hours and can monitor, I’d shoot 0.1u and get a +1 and +2.I did retest, he is 58 as of 7:15pm EST (tested him 5-10 mins before his usual shot time)
Testing every 30 mins was before you shot to see when the rise was so you could shoot. After you shoot, you can get a +1 and +2 as he’s on the way up. However, with the great way he’s looking, he might not come up too much and drop again at onset so be ready just in case.I have not fed him since +7 and yes I can monitor (assume that is what you meant by the testing every 30 mins (just till +2?)
Great job. Please see post 23 above.I just gave 0.1 (that was very hard to measure, I had to use my hands-free magnifier to be able to SEE it clearly)
Looking great. I’m assuming you know best how he responds and when you should test next. Generally, I’d think a bit more LC and test at +3 but you know best. There food bump yes?
You’re doing a really great job keeping him flat., Allison!Ok fed another tsp of LC @ 11:30PM EST (+4)
A tsp yes and test in half an hour.Am guessing a tsp or two of MC?
<50 early in the cycle would be HC since the insulin action is stronger. Later in the cycle (closer to his nadir), it's possible that you may need only MC to bring him over 50.<50 MC as a general rule ....
Let's add some MC to be extra safe.Should I be ok with just his 0.25 can of LC for the night?
