Maybe she’s going lower after you go to bed and bouncing? Obviously you can’t stay up to check that every night. It sounds like she’s feeling good. :bighug:
She is so angry with me about testing. It is definitely a negative experience for her now. I don’t believe I am hurting her, I think it’s just the process of testing. Truthfully I am so sleep deprived that once I go to sleep I am seriously out. I don’t know if setting an alarm to test her during the night would be safe, I have trouble clearing my mind to do anything. I could try that but don’t know when to test her anymore. I often stay up till 12 or 1 but need to get up at 6:30am. No longer enough sleep for me. I can’t seem to take naps but I try. IDK

I’m just saying I will do whatever I need to. She did eat her 3:30 am snack just prior to her AMPS. I forgot to get up to pull it.
I don’t know that she is feeling good. The chronic sinusitis has never been improved. She can’t breathe well through her nose. So many different meds over the last 8 years. I thought maybe the Zyrtec would be our miracle. It does treat inflammation in the sinus track. Now I am concerned about the appetite increase from it and whether it’s dangerous to give with her pain meds.

Good morning. I need some help understanding Dolly’s numbers since her increase. I can’t ever remember Dolly reacting to an increase with these high numbers. I increased her to 1.5 on the pm cycle of 8/26. Her number are just getting higher. I have read about the depot and increases but I can’t seem to wrap my head around it. I changed probably a perfectly good pen this morning but that would expire in October per Marks Marine, purchased a year ago. I feel her numbers started changing 8/6 with that new pen. I know the answer can be “just because”. I am exhausted so maybe I am missing something or just being impatient. Any thoughts would help. There have been no other changes in diet or routine. She is eating well. Eliminating normal. She did get that 1.25 mg of Zyrtec at +4 am cycle on the 28th. It increased her appetite a lot and did not give again. I know I could be totally overreacting.

I don't think I'm going to be much help here, but how is Dolly's drinking? Is there a possibility she could be slightly dehydrated since it's summer? Hoping you get to the bottom of it, dear Adrienne. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thanks Katherine. Dolly is a good drinker and does not show obvious signs of dehydration but anything is possible. Yesterday’s numbers scared me, I know I tend to over react but I guess that’s better than not being concerned at all . She goes to the vet tomorrow am and I will speak with the tech about whether she needs to get fluids. I’ve never done that at home. :bighug::bighug::bighug: I do get in my helicopter every day and hover over Ruby :cat:

Ok. Maybe you can just add more water to her food. Ruby won't let me do fluids at home, I have to have the sitter do it.

Unfortunately Dolly does not like “soupy” food and won’t eat it. She is a definite challenge with her food, will not eat food from the fridge, any cold food. She does drink well from her water bowl “s”.

I see you have a vet appointment booked for tomorrow. That's a good idea. Get the vet to take a look at her teeth too. If she needs that anal cleanse and it's causing some inflammation or infection, that could be a reason for the rise in numbers.

BTW, Marje is out of town for the week, so might not respond to tags.

Hi Adrienne. I'm sorry about Dolly's Blues (sounds like a song.) I hope all goes well at the vet tomorrow (poor Dolly, anal cleanse - has she had this done before?) That would make MY numbers go up, I can assure you :) You must get more sleep than what you currently are getting. That is dangerous. Sorry to say that.

Thank you Wendy. She just had labs minus urinalysis 2 weeks ago. Empty bladder. Her teeth and gums are perfect per vet visit June 11th. I can’t get a vet appointment for at least a week or two. Her doctor is calling me tomorrow regarding safety of giving both Buprenex and Zyrtec. I can get the vet tech tomorrow to look for any indication of infection when he does the anal cleanse. He is very thorough. If it’s that, it would remove my fear of “what is going on”? She has had so many sinus infections but they have never raised her numbers. Thanks for letting me know Marje is out of town.

Hi Suzanne, Dolly has had it done one time before. With all of Dolly’s sinus infections I have never seen numbers like this. I’ve never seen them go up when she’s had an infection. I wish I could walk back 3+ days, before her increase. I was concerned she was getting too close to yellows. This scares me because I don’t know what could cause the increased numbers other than infection and pain. Is she becoming insulin resistant? I know, sounds stupid. She had labs done in March, May, June and July and of course before all that. I know the vet thinks I over do things. Multiple chest X-rays. I just need to get some perspective on now very high nadir’s. When Dolly’s numbers are low like she was since December through July 5, 2021, she was a happier, more active kitty. Probably coincidence that when I changed her pen July 5, her numbers started to go up.

Checking in late Adrienne, boy am I happy to see that green PMPS tonight!!
I hope the vet visit goes well and I know it's early by you but I hope you aren't up too late . :bighug::bighug::bighug:
Been thinking about you all day, hope all is well. Wasn’t sure if Ashley had PT today or if she was going to go at all. So grateful for the low PMPS and the blue 2.5. Just don’t want to see those high numbers including her nadir. I hope whatever was going on went away. I got a hiss from my sweet Dolly again. I grabbed her for her test when she was busy licking herself :p Thanks for checking in. Hopefully get to go to bed by 11:30. Ready to drop. As long is all is okay on your end catch up tomorrow. All of you sleep well. Give Tyler a shot of whisky so he sleeps through the night :D :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi.Bhooma, I know you are busy but could you just take a peek at Dolly’s SS. Her numbers have been so strange for her. I would love to go to bed earlier than I have been. I’ve forgotten or don’t know if even true about having a higher number at +2 than at PMPS you can call it a night?
Yes? Thanks if you get this.
