Hello everybody!

Nola had 2 drops today below 50. I do believe that today's PMPS would've been green as well if were not for the HC food I had to give her at +10 when she went below 40.

If she has another drop in this 4th cycle of the drop dose, does it changes anything? or do I still need to wait til all her readings are green?

@Bandit's Mom you mentioned something about giving her a snack around +9/10 to see if her AMPS/PMPS drop from low blues to green, which would mean her pancreas is working? Can you expand on this? I gave her 2 freeze dried minnows (LC) at +9.5 and it sure did drop. But because it dropped below 40, I had to give her some HC food so by PMPS time she was in 119 blue again (I believe due to the HC food). What do you make of this regarding her pancreas? Does it tell you anything?
 
In a cat with a working pancreas, a little food will kickstart the pancreas to release it's own insulin and bring down numbers.

Since Nola went below 40, she really needs a dose reduction, but you can't really give less. However, she's still seeing a few blues so I'd like to suggest an experiment for a couple days. How about giving no insulin, spacing out several small meals, and see what happens? If she brings it down to all below 100, we could consider those days to be days of an OTJ trial. If she trends up, then we need to figure out what to do next. I have a couple ideas, but let's start with what we call the food trial.
 
Of course! Lets do it! So I should divide her food in 4 meals instead of 2? What do you think about feeding her at her regular AMPS, +5 , +11, +5 (I marked them in the SS)? Is that good or more meals would be better?
 
Every 3-4 hours apart is good. I wouldn't feed too close to when your AMPS or PMPS test is, at least 3 hours before.

Does this include the after hours? How about now? Can you checkout the SS and let me know if these meal times make sense to you?
