Happy new year everyone :)

Popping in here late to wish everyone's celebrating a happy new year. May this year be a one boring, regulated, green surf for us all :joyful:

I did not expect to see the post from @Mikanmama (Mikan GA). I'm so saddened by Mikan's departure. I wanted to honour her presence here :rb_icon:
.

We have decided to go ahead and do the operation. We're scheduled to Jan 17th.

Today he seems like he's suffering again. The AB's impact probably wearing off.

I can feel the risk. But I also feel that's the only option because the other option is continued AB which will be a disaster to his kidneys and gut or worse a septic bc of inflammation.

I could feel Fistuk telling me "just get those damn teeth out".

A friend offered to lent us some money and we said perhaps we can approach a few friends and each can give whatever they can so we can do it as scheduled now in Jan.

Happy new year to you all :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Oh Shelly, I wish I had some extra to send you for Fistuk. I am currently saving for Jack's The vet costs are astronomical, and I resent that they take advantage of people who just want to love their furry companions, and do the best for them. I will be praying you find a way to pay your bills, and that Fistuk doesn't have too much discomfort before he can have his teeth out. Please keep us posted on his surgery.

And I agree, may we all have a boring, regulated, green year with our kitties! (and much love for Mikanmamma---such sad news to return to the board to see) :bighug::bighug::bighug:

That is sooooo kind of you to think of that, Christine :bighug::bighug::bighug:
Prices in Switzerland are high for EVERYTHING :/ and for pets care even more. I take comfort in the confidence I have in her ability to conduct a safe anaestithia with all his problems.

I decided to postpone the surgery till after we've come back from our trip in Feb. I just don't feel comfortable doing that before I leave and financially it just felt like a suiside. I'm still chomping through a 5K bill for all the hospitalisations we've had with him in 2023.
He's feeling better after the AB and I feel ok with postponing the operation.
Sending much love:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:
