Good morning :)

We're up to u.75 this morning.

We had a bluish night. He demanded food already at +2.25 so I tested first. It could have been green at +3 but I decide to go to sleep since I woke up at +7 (which was 101). Hence decided raise.

He pooped last night and it's the second day after giving again the AnimalBiome. I'm happy he hasn't had any more discomfort yet. Hopefully it means that more bacteria has colonised his gut.

I'm going to start a part time job soon. It's been extremely difficult to find someone who can come over that knows how to shot insulin or measure BG or can come at Am shot times.

I^ll shift shot times to half an hour earlier so if I start at 9:30 in the morning I can shoot at 7:30 and still have time to get to work. I'll start the shift in a couple of day since I gave him a new dose today I don't eat too many changes at once.

Wishing you all a boring day :joyful::bighug:

Hi Shelly, good luck with the increase. I’m glad to hear he’s doing the poops with regularity and the AB pill is working and he’s feeling better with it.

Good luck with the new job. :bighug:
I also had a very hard time trying to find a helper who could test and shoot when I tried a year ago. We were going to go away but I then decided I couldn’t leave Ivy. It was so early in the journey here.
I now know I could never leave her. She’s way too unstable. I have to do too much finessing round the clock to keep her safe.

Now I barely leave the house unless I feel she’s very stable. And I only leave for a few hours and watch her on her Libre to know what’s going on. A real change of life for us.

I do hope you can find some help and that will give you peace of mind. I do think Fistuk is pretty stable and doesn’t seem to do deep sudden dives so that should make you feel much more at ease.

Have a very boring day :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Morning Shelly, nice start this morning ,you're probably right that the 0.5 is still in play. I hope he continues to surf safely today , and Congrats on getting the job, I'm so happy for you!
Good luck with the increase too.
I'll check back later to see what Fistuk is up too .
Have a nice e day Shelly :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::cat: :D

Hi Staci :)
Yes, it's hard to leave the house. and you're right that Fistuk on the whole is rather stable. And I'm also happy that when he does decide to dive he's become rather easy to pick up even with a tsp of higher end LC or lower end of MC. It does make things easier.

It's not easy not to be able to leave the house!

I'm normally going for training in Spain three times a year. I had to let go of the training in November and now in February because I need to take care of Fistuk. And honestly with all the vets bill I can't afford it now. But I do want to be able to travel again.

For now, I'll shift he's shot time. I told the person who interviewed me that starting at 9:30 would be best for me bc of Fistuk. It wouldn't be much of a problem since I'll take an assistant teacher position. To be able to be a teacher and I need to get my qualifications recognised. It's a process I have yet to embark on. But in the future if I'd want to take a teacher position I'll have to start at 7am which means I'll have to find someone. For now, I'll get someone to come at +3 and if needed at +7 to test and feed.

It's more the emotional process of not being at home all day to observe and care.

We've had a lovely short trip to Germany for shopping. Fistuk is doing quite well today. He's just had one of his serenade but as soon as I come with the camera he stops :woot:

So Fistuk gave a 70!! at almost +6.
I wanted to test both +6 and +7 bc I suspect his nadir time has changed. But he had so much to eat at +6 that I think he might have a food bump.

he's also been a bit more active. teasing and annoying Prince. His back legs are still slippery but when he's in lower greens he has more energy

I agree with all you said. Glad you got to take a quick trip to Germany. How far is that for you?

It sounds like this job will work for your schedule and for Fistuk. And since he’s pretty stable that’s so helpful. One step at a time.
You’re doing so great and will set up all the systems for his proper care. I have faith in you and your skill at managing the balances.

Thanks for the vote of confidence :)

I figure I'll need to teach people hoot test BG and inject insulin. I'm happy to do so when people are happy to learn.

I also think I'll need to look for two to three people so I can have options for different times of the day.

Germany is just 15 minutes drive. We live by the Rein river so basically on side side of the river it's Switzerland and the other is Germany.
Germany is cheaper so I'm looking for places to shop. Today we tried the pet shop, which basically I the same brand we have here. The cat litter we use is quite pricey. It's 13chf (similar to $) and we have to get a bag a week. Unfortunately that was not cheaper. but the food was so that's some saving.

We also get some other stuff like eggs and honey from a farm shop and that's a significant saving. I'm really aspiring ro see how we can significantly cut in expenses in the next few months.

Hello Shelly! Thank you for the lovely picture.
It is stressing to leave them, you need to find a rythm. I worked part time last time and there were days when I seriously thought about taking her with me. The kids came home 4 hours after I left, so I had them check on her sometimes. We are lucky to have a sitter who has several diabetic cats herself, so she knows everything about it, and she is just great. She even comes back during the day sometimes if Bella's AMPS seems low to her. I think she might even be on this forum but I don't know her pseudo :-)

Hello Shelly and Fistuk.

Beautiful cycle so far and glad to hear about his poop poop Hooray

Congratulations on your new job. Very exciting and we know everything will work out for you with Fistuk.

Beautiful photo as well.

Hi Cecile :)
WOW it sounds like you found a real gem of a person.
I just communicated wit someone this afternoon. She sounds energetic and promising. She knows nothing about diabetes but happy to learn. She's coming tomorrow evening so I'll show her everything for the first time and take it from there :bighug:
