Picked up some ketone strips but he hasn't gone yet (I have 3 other civies so I had to isolate him in my bedroom). I haven't done this with the strips before so we'll see how it goes. Used only a tiny bit of litter in a clean pan. If this doesn't work, I'll pick up the aquarium gravel tomorrow. I have a Precision Xtra Meter, which you can use to test blood for ketones. The store didn't have any strips so I ordered some on ebay - but that will take a week or so. It'll be easier after that.

Bashful is in good spirits and eating well. Paws crossed for continued reducing numbers!

I thought I saw u earlier this morning lo - just so u know, one thread per cat per day ok?
I've linked the first one cuz it had a lot of info it in, so others can view it easily.
You would do this tomorrow too , start a new thread, and go back to the previous day thread and copy the link and paste.
Take a look around other threads/condo's you will see majority have a link in their first post to the previous day.

Good job getting that out the door check! Thats the way to do it!

Actually, the other one was one I did last night, it was just done after midnight. I'll watch and try to keep them together if I do one that late.

*I understand you had blood work run on Bashful to figure out why he came out of remission. Were his thyroid levels normal (T4, Free T4)? What about his teeth? Does he perhaps need a dental done? Even a cleaning can make a kitty come out of remission. Was a urinalysis run?*

Question from Cassadra & Sasha - yes, his thyroid numbers were normal. Only thing abnormal was his pancreas (I'm going to go get a copy of his report tonight). They checked his teeth and said they were fine. I don't think they did an urinalysis. They did check for ketones at my request, which as of Saturday a.m. was normal.

Bump -

Not sure how the bumping thing works or how to do it? Is it just by replying to your own post that it gets moved up?

I edited my prior post to change the title to PMPS - was this the correct way to do it? I'm sorry if I am doing this in the wrong place or the wrong way...I read the "Cleaning up LL" post earlier today and don't want to do this incorrectly, but could not find the answer in the FAQs.

Absolutely correct.

Anyone replying in your condo will bump it up. If all you do is change the Subject line to reflect a current BG level, the condo won't bump up, though.

I don't think you gave a fur shot yesterday AM. You're not seeing much change since some of the Lantus is going to build Bashful's shed. The initial dose needs to settle in longer in order to get the shed established.

Great job with testing and getting your SS set up.
