Laurie, I finally had to switch over to the human meter. I was burning through AT3 testing strips with Jude's bouncing, and they were about to bankrupt me. I don't know if you're considering switching, but for what it's worth, the Relion has worked out fine, not to mention it's so much cheaper.

Hi Marielle! Petey is staying flat so far. My BF is picking up a Relion at Walmart on his way home, SOOOOO much cheaper -100 strips for $18bucks, versus 50 strips for $66 :eek:! Not to mention you can only buy the AT3 strips online.

What kind of number difference can I expect?

I know!! My main hesitation in making the switch was the blood sample size--it's .03 for the AT3 and .05 for the Relion, but I really have only had to repoke a couple of times due to a too small sample. The switch has been a good one for us.

If you'll take a look at Jude's ss, you'll see the numbers for the animal meter (at the top) and for the human meter. The difference is in the lower numbers.
 
So proud of myself for shooting my lowest number yet +11 173! :cool:

Does anyone have a good explanation of why Petey seems to hit his lows at +11, +12?

Eek we'll have to see how that goes, I just got to a point where I am not piercing his ears 5 times a try! Managed to go from setting 6 to 3, his ears look happier about that. Poor guy!
