i traded in the baytril for clavamox
1. she's taken clav before
2. i like a conservative approach, and from what i've heard and read, baytril is for very tough cases. i'm willing to try it if need be.
it was a much larger pill than last time. (125mg) harder to disguise. i crushed it up and mixed it with food and by the time i brought it in, she had run and hid under the bed. (smart kitty!)
an hour later, (+11) she re emerged and i gave it to her. she ate about half. the vet told me clavamox loses its potency if it sits in water too long, so i was stressing - maybe throw the whole thing out and make a new one? but i just it to her anyway. she ate about half. i tried everything to get her to finish it, but she wouldn't. i'm just hoping getting some (even if it sat an hour in food) is better than none for now. tomorrow i will give her less food and hopefully she will finish it all. (it was crushed in friskeess with dried chix on top AND tuna water. she couldn't be bothered  maybe she could smell it? (i may resort to temptation treats if need be)
i can just tell she does not feel well. back and forth to the litter box
on a better note, her blood work came back and the doctor said it was "surprising good". her BG was 108! her fructosomine was 339, he said her liver and kidney values were good (or did he say excellent)
only bad thing was cholesterol and lipids (fat) was high, but she is overweight. (17 lbs) he thinks under 15 lbs would be better. that will be the goal this year. (just don't tell her)
