1/29 Cleo AMPS 88

she was at 91 at shot time so i waited half an hr and shot, even tho she went down 3 pts.
used it as a good excuse to give higher carb food (FF beef & chix in gravy), which she ate with gusto. FINALLY, after at least a month of inappetance relative to canned food.
it's the old label FF, tho.

Did they just change the label on the ff or some of the ingredients too? I find them more confusing.

janice, they changed some of the FF ingredients, too, AGAIN.

i am SO upset. i'm in the middle of giving fluids and DH comes in hassling me for tylenol coz he has a cold. i ask him to wait one MINUTE til i'm finished and he proceeds to make such a clatter that he scares cleo to death and she leaps up and tries to tear out of my arms. instinctively i grab her mid leap, needle still in her back.
she didn't squeak or anything but i'm so worried i hurt her. he just burns me up so much. when i want something he's slow as molasses yet when he wants something he expects me to drop everything and cater to him.

i seriously hope i didn't hurt my cat. you don't mess around like that when your cat has a needle in her back. i don't even know where i grabbed her or whether the needle moved around inside there and hit anything (it didn't pop out as far as i can tell). it wasn't even time for him to have a tylenol. he'd already had two an hr or two earlier. now i'm going to be freaking out all night worried about her.

I think Cleo will be ok...you probably would have her make more noise if she was hurt.

I am a little concerned about the new FF also.....if they changed the ingredients do you think the carb count could be higher?

i think it was december or january of last year when they changed FF before and the carb count seemed to go down a little, per the as-fed values i got from their product groups. don't know the current FF ingredients tho. someone on health mentioned a few things that had changed on the label.
i hope janet will accept newer values to her food charts if purina will cooperate.

(((Chris))). I don't think there are any vital structures there you could have hit. On the cat. I can think of one or two on DH that you should have gone for.

I can't seem to open two cans of FF in a row that look and smell the same. It is frustrating. Between inappetant kitties and inconsistent flavors, it's a challenge.

I HATE when they change labels!!! I too am worried about the change in ingredients as well. I've been buying up all the old label cans where I can still find them. Can't they just leave well enough alone! As soon as I have space in my freezer, I"m stocking up on the raw but in the meantime, I'm probably going to switch to wellness.

I have no experience with fluids but I would think if something was wrong you would know it. Men are such babies when they want something! I've been using FF new label chicken feast, tender beef feast, and turkey & giblets feast, cause they all come in a variety pack box of 24 cans that I buy at WalMart. The fuds don't look any different, and Blaze and civie like them as much as before; if anything Blaze's numbers have gotten better.

so far so good. she's not flinching when i touch the area the needle could have cut thru.
number is higher coz she ate mostly dry.
she was at 194 when i tested her, got sidetracked, shot 1.5 hrs later at 182 so she'd dropped slightly.
don't remember all the new FF flavors i've tried but so far she'll eat the turkey & giblets one. all my cats turn down the new Grilled Salmon & Shrimp in Gravy and Chopped Grill.

I hate label and ingredient changes. I hate the fact that the PFI has no consistency whatsoever. My civvie has been eating the new label FFs fine, but she will eat anything.
