Yesterday I added the fat to his .5U. I don't think we are seeing the full potential of the new dose yet. Starting this morning, I am making another attempt to taper off his Omeprazole. The change to BID dosing on his pred this past week seems to have evened up his numbers a bit over the 24 hour period. I have not been able to discuss his latest bloodwork results with the vet, as she is away at a conference, but I will be seeing her on Monday when I take Teddy in for recheck and bloodwork.

The boys have had a good few days. Bear has been pretty good about making it to the box most times. He woke up hungry as a bear this morning. Maybe he thought he should get me up at 2:00 so I didn't sleep through my 2:30 a.m. alarm. He's thoughtful like that. I'm off to tbp on this frigid cold day. I hope the kitties find a nice sunbeam to curl up in.

I'm so glad that your boys seem to be feeling a bit better. They are both so handsome.

Good moning Linda
A nice report for Bear Man and Teddy. Glad there is some happier news reports for them.
I so love the pictures you took.
Makes me want to just come over and give big, big hugs!!

pmps: 220
eta: +3.5 223 cat(2)_steam
And he pooped on the floor today. Anyway, it's sunny in the bedroom, so it looks like everyone had some good sunbeam time. Except maybe the pancreas.

I'm glad to hear that Bear Man was so hungry this morning! And you're lucky you get some sunshine in your house. My condo faces north, and the sun never touches the inside of my house.. that's why I take my kitties outside.
I think your pictures show 2 kitties that look pretty attentive and happy. 'course iz cuz they gots the best mommybean :-D .

Lovin the pics

Sorry to hear Mr P was playing ball today, but at least evryone is a little happier.

Hope tbp wasn't too much of a chore.

Thanks for popping in our condo.

I can envision Bear and Teddy snuggled up together in the sun. Great image! The photos are wonderful. It's great to hear that Bear has had several good days.

I hope they enjoyed sunny spots today. I'm sure they comfort each other. I wonder who finds the sunny spot first, and if they call the other over to it.

Happy LONG timer day! You sure keep track of a lot of variables. That's an interesting point about the efficacy of pills which have been cut. A bit scary actually, as I often cut a week's worth of pills at a time to expedite our medication routine. I give at least 5 different meds which involve cutting pills.

I don't know if we'll find anything, Linda. It was one of those can't-fall-asleep moments where lots of what-ifs pop into my mind, and this was one of them. We have been scratching our heads over why her response to mirtz hasn't been consistent, and DH swears he's been cutting them all evenly, so we thought we'd try to pursue this. And even if cutting in advance affects efficacy, it is probably more significant for meds that are not dosed on a daily basis - i.e. we cut amlodipine too, a week's worth at a time, but I'm not worried about that vs. mirtz which is dosed q72h - the last quarter pill is exposed for a whole 12 days.

Hey, does Bear get B12 injections? I stumbled on an interesting discussion in the old Think Tank yesterday, link here.

Thanks for the link, CF. I'm going to read it tomorrow. Bear had a course of B12 injections recently, then tapered off them. I missed the boat on rechecking his B12 last week because I didn't fast him for the b/w. I'll ask the vet about it. Someone had also suggested it for Teddy. My vet likes to test the level of B12/Folate and only supplement if their level is low.
