Good morning Everyone,

Basil started out the day by deciding no blood would be forthcoming. Sigh.

He didn't eat any of the food left out overnight, and he all but finished his reduced-size breakfast. Starting today, I'll be trying to be more vigilant about having mealtime amounts plus snacks add up to a reasonable number of calories.

I'm out all day so (adult) Sonbean--who is completely comfortable with tests and shots--will be in charge. Basil actually loves Sonbean best and I think the feeling may be mutual. :)

Re: 1/31 Basil AMPS=115

There are just days when those ears don't want to cooperate and the kitties are squirmy. It looks like you got a good number to start the day with despite an uncooperative ear!

Re: 1/31 Basil AMPS=115

 You should see me trying to test my Raja's ears...the lower her numbers went, the less
herears bled. Weird. As if she said "I am F I N E. you don't need to do this anymore!!!"
She is OTJ now and well, there is no blood in them there ears. I never had this kind of trouble
when she was in the higher blues. It is so funny the way they almost seem to control the blood flow!

Re: 1/31 Basil AMPS=115 +3=72

Well, his dry ears are continuing, but his determination to keep his blood eventually falls to my determination to steal it. 72 is a little lower than I expected and seems like it will warrant more testing, but nothing drastic. His next little mini-meal is at +4. I might try to get in a test just before I feed him.

Thanks,
sonbean

Re: 1/31 Basil AMPS=115 +3=72 +4=75

Did a +4 test and got 75. It was time for his feeding, so I left him 1/4 can of fancy feast, which he is happily eating. Good to see he was trending flat to slightly up from 72 before I fed, though.

Re: 1/31 Basil AMPS=115 +3=72 +4=75

Another nice day for Basil Lydia.
I know that blood can be frustrating. I ran out last night in poor Max's pokefest.
I always keep my warm sock nearby and sometimes need to put it at the ear again after
I get a small drop and more blood comes out.
Try it.
Have a good day!

Re: 1/31 Basil PMPS = 87

Basil was a hungry little kitty tonight and finished his whole dinner, which is excellent. He had a PMPS of 87, which is on the low side for him, so I will be sure to check in on him again at +3 or possibly +2 depending on how he's acting.

Re: 1/31 Basil PMPS=87 +2=80

What a lovely looking line of numbers there, Basil!
I hope you enjoyed your meal and have a very pleasant nite now.

Time for a collective update. (aka I forgot to post the numbers.) He dipped a little lower than I predicted he would tonight, but generally that's a good thing! He had a feeding at +4, so I have him 1/8 can then and the remaining 1/8 at +5. The +5.5 seemed to be on the rise again, so I left him his frozen cubes and am going to bed.

PMPS=87 +2-80 +4=66 +5=61 +5.5=68

Thanks!
