Good morning LL!!

Bee's dosecrease is kicking in...right at AMPS & shortly before I have to leave for work. I will NOT be here to monitor her today!!!

She ate very little overnight...getting very picky about the freshness of her food!! Feeding her some lc right now & will retest in 15 minutes. (+.25~161) May need some food & dose ideas, please!!

Hi Pat!! Good morning to ya.

Blues came through, but I wish I wasn't getting a dip at AMPS. grr_red I'm still not too good with that.
Bee is at +12.5~175 & I'm already late for work. She's on the rise and hungry, so I'm going to give her a fat .25 and leave lots of lc down. Hope I'm doing the right thing!!!!!!! nailbite_smile

I also have to back her time by 30 minutes for tomorrow AMPS or I'll be late again.

Can you elaborate on the food/dose questions you have. This way we can answer your exact questions.

Re: 1/7 Bee +11.5~173 +12~154 +12.25~161 questions!!

Hi Nancy. If it makes you more comfortable, then yes do the fat .25 leave food and go to work. I sort of feel the .5 would have been ok. But since you aren't going to be home and are shaky about the blue 175... I totally understand! Bee will be fine.

You are feeding really good foods, but these kitties.. confused_cat --Many of us use fancy feast, as they are flavorful & low carb--You could sprinkle current food with halo livalittles powder from bottom of box, or try parmesean cheese sprinkled on top--Yeah I thought they'd never eat it, but they did!!! :-D

Re: 1/7 Bee +11.5~173 +12~154 +12.25~161 questions!!

I bet if you do move the time so you have some breathing room in the morning it will help you.
Her AMPS are beautiful...just great...everything is moving right along....you are doing such a good job Nancy!
She usually eats what you leave out while you are gone, so she will be fine...

BTW, you have been seeing a lot of pinks and yellows so you are used to those numbers.
(That's why you upped her dose, right?) Now, you will have to get used to the blues....and maybe greens...and maybe a day when
Bee doesn't need insulin any more!! yay!! It's a progression down the dosing scale...it's all good!
Hope you have a good day! Talk to you later...

Re: 1/7 Bee +11.5~173 +12~154 +12.25~161 questions!!

I tend to agree with CD but I also understand that given the recent dosecrease, I would probably want to be around to monitor. You made a good choice that you were comfortable with. I also think Bee is at the stage where you're going to have to shine up those BOS and keep repeating, "Shoot low to stay low."

Re: 1/7 Bee +11.5~173 +12~154 +12.25~161 questions!!

Nancy since you have to move your schedule back anyway this .25f dose probably will work out better and your PMPS might not be as low as if you had given the higher dose. Then maybe you can back the time up by 15 minutes without a problem.

Last Thurs. Dec 31, you shot .50u at a preshot of 148 and Bee went down to 38 at +9. So your reasoning for cutting back today when you couldn't be home to monitor is perfectly reasonable. The time for BOS (balls of steel) would be better when you can be around a little bit more, at least until you know what Bee is going to do on this dose again.

*For others to know, she had reduced to .25 Jan 1st and had just returned to the .50 dose last night. This morning was just a little too uncomfortable since she had to go to work. As Sienne said, Nancy will shine up her BOS and very soon will shoot low to stay low. She likes those green numbers too.

Lots of good advice on this thread today, Pat's suggestion to get more time in the mornning... Roni's food ideas for making things more appetizing.... Sienne's encouragement to be strong... Awesome. :-D

+10~278 yuck

Thanks to everyone for your replies & suggestions!! The LL board has kept me sane since the dx of Bee's "dis-ease" & it makes a HUGE difference just knowing that help is near. You all are the best. :thumbup

Pat is right that I need to get Bee's dose times changed...a lot!! Ideally 9:45-10.00am/pm & we are currently (after this morning) at 11:00. The "wait & retest in 15" rule keeps messing us up big time because of the way Bee reacts when she's in the blues & greens. She likes to dip at dosing time! ohmygod_smile Then we get to the point where our schedule is out of kilter & I have no am time to work her up to administer her full dose. It seems we move ahead 30-45 minutes, but can only back up in 15 min increments. How do I get out of this vicious cycle?? :dizcat

Would also appreciate some input about tonight's dose time & amount. I have to leave tomorrow am by 11:00 at the very latest.

Re: 1/7 Bee +11.5~173 +12~154 **MORE questions!!

Hi Nancy. I'm going to suggest that you can shoot 30 minutes early tonight. The +10~278 will probably go a little higher so you should be good to go.
This will help your schedule somewhat, yes? You've shot numbers like this with no problem. If you shoot 30 minutes early tonight, shoot 12 hours from that tomorrow. It is best to only alter the schedule by 30 minutes per day... either by 15 minutes each cycle or one cycle at 30 minutes early.

Did that help at all?

Bee is really coming along fast...she's on such a low dose and you are still seeing some great numbers! Keep up the great work, Nancy! :RAHCAT :RAHCAT

Re: 1/7 Bee +11.5~173 +12~154 **MORE questions!!

Thanks! Will edit now. I was busy reading the tough day Nicole & Baby have & are having.

No more posts tonight to keep the board clear for them.
