Good morning :)

Robert keeps taking care of Fistuk in the morning when he's not working. He's concerned that he had to prick his ear three times in order to get blood and that's the reason the reading was high. Is it possible?

Finally a nice +3 this morning. Perhaps the juice kicks in.

His hind legs are still weak. I'm giving him more cosequine today. I'll see if I decide to give 250mg or 375mg. I read it's possible to give up 500mg and one pill has only 125mg.

He had some mushy cream to decorate the poo yesterday so I'll stop the vitamin C for the time being.

Wishing you all a great day :bighug:

Hi Shelly,
Not sure about spiking BG from the repeated pokes. Was Fistuk stressed out?
This is the third cycle with the new dose - still building the depot!
Hope a bigger dose of cosequine starts helping his legs!
Have a wonderful day, Shelly! :bighug:
Hi Kit :)
I don't know. I was a sleep :joyful:
Yes, and I think the numbers show the difference. Besides the morning's spike his cycle is not so bad this AM.
I hope so too. As well as the jin shin jyutsu I do for him.
Have a great day, Kit :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I just had the consult with an AnimalBiome consultant. It was very useful.
Basically, she said that I could find the right pace for Fistuk with the gut restore pills. It's great to know that it's working even if he can't take it every day.
She suggested trying every few days, even every week and hopefully over time the bacteria will populate the gut.
She also said that some supplements suck the moisture from the body and with diabetes and CKD it's something to consider. I shared what supplements he takes and she it's fine but the B12 will probably be synthesised better once the gut is restored.
She also said that I could give him the kefir in parallel to the gut restoration pills or I could give it to him on the day I don't give the pills but basically it's good for him.
She that when he moves around with discomfort and yowles it's probably gas stuck in his intestine and she instructed me how to manually help him release the gas.
She said that the pancreatitis is probably because of the chronic inflammation he has in the body and a balanced gut will help with that. I've read in their review before I started this process that someone related to their cat's pancreatitis healed after the gut restoration process.
Lastly, she mentioned that at his age there could be some internal anatomical changes in the gut which they would be unable to check but whatever the case the more balanced his gut is, the less licky, he will be able to use the insulin better, toe synthesis vitamins better and have better bowl movement.

Overall I'm very pleased with this call. She talked super fast, she made sure she kept in the 15 minutes LOL. But it was enough and she'll also write to me an email so if I have any follow up questions I can write to her. So it's good to know I still have a line of communication

Sounds like a lot of good information....happy about that for you and Fistuk! My vet says stress could affect the BG but not sure how long it takes to make the number higher. I'll ask tomorrow when I take one of my other cats Abby. Wishing you a good day with Fistuk and that the cosequin helps his legs :bighug:

Hi Christine :)
Yes, I'm very pleased with that. She also just sent me a summary of the call so I?m happy to have it all in writing.
I know that his BG goes up with a visit to a vet. It could very well be that the pain causes him stress.

It reminds me that a few days ago I went to a natural pharmacy that has a collection of mushrooms. I inquired about the right mushroom that could be helpful for my needs and the pharmacist trying to understand my symptoms asked me-do you have stressed?
I laughed and sad-do you know anyone these days who is not stressed? and she laughed
I added that if she knows anyone She has to send them over to me because I need to ask them a few questions ;)
Hope you're having a good day :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Shelly, not bad numbers at all for Fistuk, Sounds like the consult you had with AnimalBiome consultant was very helpful. I hope upping the cosequin helps and the jin shin jyusu helps .
Kisses to Fistuk :bighug::bighug::bighug::cat:

I think the cosequin makes him feel already better, Diane. i gave him 375mg today and after supper he already felt like he was somehow relieved. he's with us on the bed and he seems to be more at ease.
Fistuk sends kisses and hugs :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thanks, Staci xx
You had busy convos, I know sometimes it's just tough to squeeze in everything :)
I had a lousy sleep. Hubby snoring :/
Giving more cosequine does help :joyful::bighug:

Omg I laughed at the snoring part. We have the same issue here (but then I’m told I snore too). Oh well, I’m quite sure I do. Those precious few hours I get must be like a drunken sailor. Mouth gaping open. Sprawled in the bed. What a vision :joyful:
