10/15 Teal'c Amps 143 +8 126 decreased to 1.75 help figuring possible new schedule

Yesterday

So he had a decent blue after the skip last night. Have dropped him down to 1.75 in the hopes on Saturday and Sunday I can shoot. Tonight husband is home so he can shot on time. Saturday and Sunday will be the next time I have to shoot early, hoping schedule goes back to normal after that.

There is a possibility I might get moved to the weekends after that. Which if that happens I may be looking for advice on how to handle his shots. I would have Monday's through Wednesday off each week. I'd work 5pm to 3am Thursday and Friday so I would move his shot times to 4am, 4pm. But Saturday and Sunday I'd work 5am to 5pm. I wouldn't be home in time for his am shot. I wouldn't be home till 5:15am is my guess. Not sure what to do because this is messing up the depot and I'm so afraid it will mess with how well he has been doing. Won't know till Friday or Saturday for sure. If anyone has an idea for me I'd be very grateful. So nervous about this I want to cry.

Oh darn work schedules

@Wendy&Neko might have some suggestions - I think I've seen her help with this kind of issue previously.

It's hard enough when you're working but doesn't help when the hours are forever changing!

Have you read/heard anything about 18 hour cycles? Wendy, would that help at all in this case?

Patty, I just had a crazy thought...anyone that could come in and shoot for you on those weekends when the schedule gets all wonky?

I just wondered if the vet tech you have come in when you're on vacation would be available for something like that? I don't know how long your week schedule is going to be all crazy...but it's just something that came to mind...thought I'd toss it over the wall at ya.

I might be able to get a sibling to come do it. I'll have to desensitize him to the person since he suffers from stranger danger syndrome. I'm think this could be done with treats in the same manner you get them use to bg test.

So you'd have to move PS time back 1.25 hours for a couple days, then move it back up again over the three days off to 4/4? Not perfect, but not a horrible solution. How does hubby's schedule/ability to shoot fit in?

He changed jobs so his new schedule jumps from am to pm to 3rd shift back and forth. He use to work AM. He always has Monday and Thursday off but rest of the week is a crap shoot. This week he worked Tuesday and Wednesday at 3pm Thursday off. Friday is 3am so he can shoot tonight. Saturday and Sunday is 11pm (he goes to bed at 3pm for his 11pm shift.) He is currently trying to go back to production AM which would fix the problem. He isn't sure he will be allowed to go back however because he said they told him when you bid a different job you are frozen from switching jobs for 1 year.

My job my boss rotates the weekend between pm shift QC'S so my turn for the weekend is coming up. If I get rotated to the weekend I'll work 5pm to 5am I'll leave for work around 4:15 and get home 5:15appx Saturday and Sunday. I could wait and leave as late as 4:30 but still won't get home till after 5. So each weekend would mean a shot would be early or late. Currently my normal schedule is 7pm to 5am Monday thru Wednesday Thursday off with a 5pm to 5 am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday off. So the 5:30 shot times were great. The reason for the change to 4 is because Thursday and Friday I'd work from 5pm to 3am, however now that I think about it he could still do the Thursday Friday shot so guess I don't have to move the time. I'd still have an issue with Saturday and Sunday. Right now we are working longer hours because one is on vacation but it also allowed me to realize the problem I'm going to have when the boss switches me to the weekend.

I know this looks like a bunch of ramblings I've reread it and confused myself. I might see if one of my siblings would mind making friends with Teal'c and give the pm shot on the weekends for me. One sister gives insulin to her husband the other has a type1 granddaughter so maybe one of them would consent to doing it. I'd think getting Teal'c use to them will be the hard part. He hides from all visitors (stranger danger) but using the same technique as getting him use to being poked might work? I will figure something out.
